Our neighbor had a golden retriever wiener cross her name was Opal. It looked like a normal golden with really short legs lol.

 

That is a bad ass combination.

 

The logistics though...

Here are mine, both adopted, Rumps (black)and Razzle (red) 13 and 12yrs old. Still happy active lil pups. They both ride with me wherever I go. Love them to bits.

 

Highly Food motivated pooch! She's learning how to "leave it", I know it's killing her to sniff but not eat the treats.

I think it fits them well being big large sometimes slow dogs but still powerful. I named him Moose partly because I was supposed to get a brown lab but when I picked him up there was a mixup and all they had left was him. I'm not mad though he's turned out to be the best dog I've ever owned. Smart as can be.

 

My pup turned 5 last week. and she also hurt herself chasing a rabbit in our backyard. at least that's what i'm hoping she did considering she was perfectly fine before this incident. she is favoring her passenger side leg ( i just now realized i typed passenger side to describe a leg...i'm leaving it lol) and she is walking with a definite limp. after a couple of days it wasnt getting any better and her walking was getting worse so i took her to the vet. her being a golden retriever, i wanted to make sure nothing was acting up with her hips. the vet checked out her leg and felt her hips and said everything seems to be where it is supposed to be and she has full range motion of her leg, so its probably just a soft tissue injury. he gave us some anti-inflammatory pills to treat the injury. she seems better (5 days now being on the meds), but still not 100%. if she isnt back to her usual self after the pills, i'm supposed to set another appt and bring her back in for xrays.

My dachshund pitbull mix. 34lbs of solid muscle. His name is Thaddeus, he's 3yrs old.

 

Baker (6) and FIFA (3.5). This was taken on the day we had to put FIFA down for lymphoma but man she was a great pup. My first dog, that was the hardest day I've ever experienced.

 

i hate that goldens are so prone to cancer and other nasty things more so than other breeds.

 

Meet Cooper...From 6 weeks....to 9 months..... His ears almost touch the headliner in my F150. lol.

 

Sorry for your loss. Such a young age to have to say do long, when a lifetime is never long enough. Cancer is a thief.

 

So sorry for you loss, but also envious in a way that the choice was made for you. God, I hate that blue needle. Hope you find peace knowing that his last moments were at home in a warm bed surrounded by love.
