I got mine from cvj for $115? I think. I posted in my build thread, OEM remans.
Ha yea right. The dealership here wouldn't do anything about my bad add actuator even when my truck was stock.

Boots should still be covered under the 3yr/36k "bumper to bumper" warranty which I'm sure he's still under. As long as they're not dicks, they should cover it.

    My dealership would.

My dealership is cool. I'll see what they say. I'll clean it and see what it looks like after a few days

So I'm guessing that you would expect the dealership to cover new brake pads and rotors if you rode the brakes for the first 20k miles? What about spark plugs? Not being a dick, just trying to explain what category they are going to lump in with.

Seriously? Riding the brakes don't compare to CV boots leaking on a 2015 Tacoma with less than 36k miles. So I guess it's ok for the weather stripping on your windows and doors to leak water after a year since you open and close both the doors and windows regularly?

Not being a dick either, just making conversation. If it was a stock Tacoma, I guarantee they'd replace the boots. The hard part will be being assertive enough to get it done with the mods done to the truck.

Weather stripping and seals aren't considered consumables. CV axles, whether just boots or the entire axle is considered a consumable. Not saying I agree just that I have run in to it. Plus he has modified the boot, hose clamp instead of a cv clamp, plus the lift. Just excuses/reasons they will most likely give you.

Also, ace did you permanent the boot when you slid it? I'm guessing you didn't use the "vibration resistant" clamps? So they may have loosened and allowed the boot to leak grease.

For the length of time it takes to actually wear through the boots with rubbing fins after a lift versus the large chance you take of them leaking or throwing a clamp after the boot slide mod I am actually a huge opponent of the mod.

That's why I said it depends on if they want to be dicks or not. My dealership would do it without question because I bring all my vehicles there. They won't lie to Toyota or the warranty company for me, but they won't volunteer information either.

Just used a regular clamp. After looking at it again I believe the clamp loosened and caused the boot to leak.
