Yeah I have the factory drop-on liner on the bed. Of course, it's not two holes in the corners, which works against the point of the liner. I've considered getting a new one, but if I am going to pay for a new liner, I may as well just do a roll/spray on one and forgo the drop-in one.

Other than hearing about it being used, I don't know anything about fiberglass patching. Pls spoon feed me the know-how. :)

Really simple, can probaby find a how to online but the short version is:
    1. Mix Resin with hardener
    2. Coat body panels with mix via brush
    3. Coat fiberglass sheet with mix via brush (preferably on a piece of carboard since it's messy)
    4. Place wet sheet on hole
    5. Brush mix on sheet/edges again
    6. Drink beer and let dry

It's messy but very stiff and durable when dry. That's how I have always done it, plenty of guides online about fiberglass work. It's not pretty when done raw like this but it's covered by a bed mat or liner anyway.

Speaking of which, I lost another one of those fucking fillers on the way to work this morning. Good thing I collect spares.

Doesn't take much skill to weld just patience because when you start to mess it all up it gets frustrating but as long as there's decent penetration you can just grind it all down flush. My hole is really bad because I used to have one like yours but kinda put off doing the work for awhile . All that rust around the actual hole in that pic was underneath the rubber coating in the wheel well, I peeled it back. so the rust may be progressing more than you think. If it's in the same area as mine at least

I don't have a plastic liner or anything I think water got in under that little bead of rubber running down the bed and just sat there and started rotting. Fibreglass doesn't sound like a bad idea but I figured do it once and do it right so I never have to deal with it again (hopefully). Gonna bed line the whole bed sometime soon too.

when you do the deckplate mod does it HAVE to be sensor safe silicon? I have regular waterproof stuff but I couldn't find any at autozone (and honestly don't feel like driving to pep boys or advance)

Doesn't sound too difficult. I may very well give it a try someday soon. I want to properly clean the bed anyway. I just swept it out last time, but it needs a cleaning. I'll do it the same day. And I'll come up with some cheap bs way to plug those holes in the corners of the liner to help avoid any further damage.

Maybe. My hole is right next to the wheel well. I'll have to take a look to see if it's deeper down than it looked. I don't want to put it off for too long. I'd rather avoid having a hole like yours lol. I'd say mine isn't bad for 12 years old. It's just that one spot, and it isn't big.

yea it doesnt look that bad and you could probably get away with doing cynicalrider's idea if you seal it up nice, but keep an eye on it mine used to look like that and somehow turned into this in less than, like, 3 years

Will do. I plan on taking care of it before this next Winter. I don't know how long it's been like this since I have only had the truck 6 months. But I don't want to see how quickly I catch up to you...
