    I told him he is more than welcomed to try it, but from my knowledge he will need a lift and to trim (and he already told me trimming is out of the question on his brand new truck). 3rd gen guys (from my experience) hate to think that the 2nd gen is similar, so when I tell them I went through this on my 2007 they freak out and say theres is COMPLETELY different.

    I'm not all hip with the 3rd gen gossip are 285s a bit tighter than a 2nd gen or just same issue body mount or inside fender trim

    Same as 2nd gen. But the 3rd gens sit an inch higher up front stock than a 2nd gen so they need 1.5" of lift instead of 2.5"

    Also it depends on what kind of tire, mud terrain is a bit wider compare all terrain. You won't prolly notice not a big deference but when full turn, tire sounds and machine gun due to rubbing lol
