... ^^^ ... I think that is probably the best description of an "semi-controlled-autorotate-decent" ... i.e. success = the crew surviving, but the A/C maybe not so much.

... ^^^ ... My buddy went up in a P-51 last fall in Peachtree City, GA. It costs about $2,300.00 (donation) and the flight was maybe 45 minutes.

Many of the WW2 planes come to PDK or Peachtree City for several shows a year and you can fly in them with a reservation and a donation.

I think a lot of those planes are hangered at Peachtree City and are open to see most of the year when not at shows.

The F-5 is in one of the hangers where he is working on it. The guy told me if I am around when he is there he will take you in and show you the plane he told me the air frame is almost complete he said they're rebuilding the engine over @ Hazy Air and Space museum and waiting on some FAA certs. The guy is a retried airline pilot,A&P jet mechanic and he is also a volunteer restoring projects for the Air and Space Museum....

It just made its visit to Colorado. I caught this shot several years ago during one of the visits.

Didn't have the extra cash last year for a ride but this year it may be in the cards to go for a ride out to Harpers ferry/Berryville/Charlestown and South Mountain 30/40 minute ride $450

I had a chance to fly on Fifi the last B-29 a couple summers ago but wasn't willing to pony up the cash at the time. Next time it's around I don't want to miss it because who knows how much longer it will be flying.

It is fun to do if you can swing it. I went up in a different B-17 with some family members one year. Very memorable. Plus the funds go to keeping the planes flying.

As far as pax versions AF only had ~ 5 747-400 series. First one came around 1993 & the last in 2003 (I think). Can't say about the AF sister company KLM in the background.

I had some friends on honeymoon that were on one the AF 47 birds when it went off the end at PPT and into the bay.
