I also don't know which pack to get. I really like the flex you get out of Chevy 63's. I don't like the amount of custom work you have to do for them though.

If I got Dakars, I'd want to get off of the 5100's too. That would be a good chunk of change for Nirtochargers in the rear also...

True, but I don't like doing that.

I'm not happy with how my stock springs are toast after only 3 years

It seems they go to they worn level then kinda chill there as mine havent lost any ride height since ive had the truck. With Dakars the nitrochargers limit the droop with the stock shock mounts too right? another thing to consider

Took out a bunch of leafs? All you need to do is take out the overload. I just don't like the idea of it being irreversible. And I hear axle wrap is an issue with them

Deaver you can get made custom. OME Dakar is probably the best overall. All Pro Expedition Leafs have the best carrying capacity, but you don't have any weight in the rear. There's always a bit of axle wrap. If minimal axle wrap, then you're looking at getting a traction bar, which I believe you could get one from RuffStuff for not that much.

Yes. I'll probably end up getting the AAL soon.

How much lift do you have without the AAL?

Right now I'm sitting at ~2.5" of lift, but then factor in the 270lbs of bumper, spare, and bed rack and you realize why I only get that much. When I first did the lift I got ~3.5" of lift and it settled at ~3.25" of lift. The thing about the Dakars is that they're meant to run flat, meaning that they'll barely have any arch to them. I personally love them, but the D43XL adds ~220lbs of carrying capacity, which would be great with how much weight I have on the rear of my truck.

Yea. You have the OEM rear bumper and a soft top, which in total probably weighs 3lbs :p The ride though wasn't bad though when I first did it. Little stiff for the first few hundred miles, but after that they were pretty soft. I've also had ~500lbs of gear in the bed with the lift and it was really good. Rear sagged a bit, but it did really well.

I'd rather it ride stiff than like a boat, which is what it's like now

Soft as in you won't feel EVERY single bump in the road. Dakars keep the rear in control and stable, which is what you'd want. It ain't no Rolls Royce ride, if you thought I implied that. :p
