What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

They look great, but the light dispersion is garbage. The only way I'd recommend them is if you plan on retrofitting projectors in, which I'm trying to get done this summer. The tail lights that Spyder makes are great, however!

Hell Yeah! Im about to break 200k and posts like these are reassuring

 

Man if you only knew the hell this truck has been through before me. With zero maintenance essentially it hit well over 200k. With good maintenance I can't see not hitting 400k+.

 

I bought mine around 175k and definitely can't say it was well taken care of before me but I would be so stoked if I hit 300k with good maintenance

 

Rear diff and engine oil change today.

Timing belt is fairly straight-forward and you start by dropping the radiator anyways.

 

That's the friend's discount too. And yeah, they put the new radiator in for free.

But dude, I'm traveling so much for work now, I can't even find time to do stuff like clean my intake and change my plugs. It's been pissing rain for three days. I honestly am getting to old for wrenching stuff like this lying in my driveway (not to mention I'm still sore from fighting a mid-tine tiller for three hours on Sunday).

So I suck it up, bend over, grab my ankles and grit my teeth.

Plus it has a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty on it for parts and labor

 

got my 231mm calipers in. 35 bucks a pop going to rebuild and powder coat them.

still smaller than these.. figured out they're from a 07-16 tundra. should of figured because of the bolt locations.

 

You waited till 265k to change the oil?!?!

Yeah, that too soon? I knew I should have waited until 300k but that damn Walmart guy convinced me....

You'll probably be ok if you allow it to fully cure before you put the airbox back on the truck. I'd say a good 24 hours should do it.

It is the outgassing off that non-sensor safe silicone that can mess with your MAF. Honestly, if it were me, I'd go get the correct stuff and not risk messing up the MAF.

 

I'm probably going to do this as well with the next waterpump/timing belt swap. Seems like the prudent thing to do.

I can relate. To me, 900$ seems pretty reasonable for this work.
