Wow! 12000 lbs winch --- a bit of overkill? Looks great.

Isn't the rule of thumb: 1.5 times the weight? So maybe 6000 lbs x 1.5 = 9000 lbs winch needed.

(I use a cheap chinese 5000 lbs winch).

Its a transformer. its relatively easy to install. i love it. its a real sturdy winch mount. and im not familiar with the rule of thumb on size of winch. but i went on the net to buy a 9500 lb milemarker and they had a sale...... the 12000 was only 50 dollars more and you got a free atv winch with it. so i figured id just get a little better line pull out of the deal. as far as the difference in the 9500 and 12000...... the gear ratio is the only one. line size motor size is all the same. but i like the bigger the better rule. lol
