I'm not sure about the 'coating' part, but my understanding was that as long as it was inspected by Toyota, you were warrantied through the next 15 years...you should be good OP, don't take no for an answer if the dealer or Toyota Corp tries to give you the run around. You had your frame inspected, it failed within the 15 year warranty, they owe you a new frame.

It doesn't seem like a decision for the PO to make but rather the dealer would decide whether it should be coated if they inspected it. As stated before, don't give up. It sounds like going above the dealer's head has yielded results when the dealer won't budge. Good luck.

Its so weird in these situations where the dealer tries pulling this shit. I dont get it!? Its nothing out of pocket for them. Then there are the good dealers and they jump all over the warranty and are super helpful throughout the situation...

My understanding with asshole dealers and warranty related issues is that, even though they are 'technically' not paying out of pocket, it's still a struggle for them to get compensated through the warranty. Especially if you have a 3rd party warranty which is why those are so frowned upon.

Basically, the dealership would rather spend time on customers paying out of pocket than have to go through the hassle of getting compensated through a warranty provider.

I agree though, it's ridiculous...we as customers sometimes pay good money for our warranties (that the dealers DO profit on from the original sale)....to get jerked around like this is completely unwarranted (pun intended?)

Remember this whole warranty extension is at the option of the owner.

I could have had my tuck Bought back at the 1 1/2 times the KBB value I decided not to.

To be honest it was the fact the dealer could not come up with a suitable brand new Truck in my time frame

It was my choice the same with getting things inspected and sprayed it was always the owners choice.

It looks like that frame has been repaired in the past, based on the frame hole on the left of the spring mount. I am fixing my frame as we speak and stare at the frame everyday, so I am familiar with what it should look like haha
