you could always go with racing seats, and have custom rails made...

in fact...even if you use the stock rails it'll be lower

Auto transmission/engine idling up at a red light causing a vibration in the truck/feeling like some1 behind just bumped you.

Have been told that this is normal.... just is annoying to me.

Since it is a truck, it needs a real front bumper, tail gate and rear springs. The stock tires are a joke and the brakes need to be better. Everything else is great.

Not an easy question really to answer since these trucks have so much potential and they come from the factory so "unfinished" (but not in price though). To make a really useable truck out of a stocker takes a few thousand dollars and quite a bit of effort. I like my truck (mostly) now that I fixed most of the big things like suspension and stereo but if I wanted to lift it for wheeling etc. there would be a lot more money and hassle to get that done. And after all that, I see full-size trucks with v8's that get better mileage (or same) than my truck with a v6 and a manual trans with more power and towing ability that cost the same or less. For what I did to my truck (Billy 5100's, helper springs in back, complete new sound system, Magnaflow, Michelin LTX tires) and still need to do - new aftermarket clutch with lighter flywheel, higher gearing in differentials to make up for extremely low trans gearing (maybe), woods driveshaft, lockers in front / rear, and possibly a supercharger to get more power out of it, I think I am looking at another $8000 at least. That would put me at around $39000 tied up in this truck without interest and still have a weak tailgate and marginal brakes. So you tell me...was this a best purchase and a good deal for the money? Well if it got really good mileage (like it should) I could easily handle the rest but since it gets horrible gas mileage it just really sours the deal since I could drive a full-size truck that would be a real truck and get the same mileage and it would cost the same or less to buy. I would kind of like to trade it off but I kind of like it enough to keep it too. I definitely think it was a mistake to buy this truck; what I should have got was a 2003 to 2006 dodge with a cummins TD or maybe a ford with an international diesel and either one of those would have been better for the money but oh well I have this toyota and would take a real beating to get rid of it and get something else. Probably will just keep it and be happy.

Honestly...I really love my '09 2wd regular cab auto. Just not much to complain about.

My only complaint? No delay wipers...but I fixed that with the replacement stalk...so I guess that one doesn't count.

And I wish it had a locking fuel door.

    1. No tachometer with a manual transmission
    2. No clock with base model package
    3. Crappy drum brakes
    4. Stupid location for a breather valve on the differential
    5. Weak rear axle seals
    6. Rear view mirror vibrates and gives me a headache every time I look into it
    7. Windshield is angled too steeply allowing rocks to easily crack windshield
    8. Replacing front rotors requires removing and repacking wheel bearings

They should have put in defrost vents for the two front side windows...the DS window is always fogging up unless I turn the vent right on the glad.
