Doing some online shopping last night, looking at the BAMF, SOS, and Mobtown sliders. I love the look of the BAMF, but I'm curious about the strength of the frame tie-in, is the Mobtown design that much stronger with the clamps, etc? I mean, SOS has pictures on their site of the whole truck being lifted by their sliders.

I'm thinking about skid plates as well and figure if I'm going to pony up shipping for those, might as well have a pair of sliders on the same pallet. The BAMF stuff is stout, for sure, but is it really that much stronger 1/4" vs 3/16"? The SOS gear looks nice too but I think I'm leaning more toward BAMF.

So, would anyone be interested in joining me in picking up some gear from either BAMF? I'll probably hold off a couple of weeks to see if they have a sale around Memorial Day, but I'm pretty sure I'll be going that route.

 

Any of the available sliders will be fine. They can all be used to raise a side of the truck as well.

As for skids unless you are going hardcore 3/16" we'll be fine. And ya 1/4" is much stronger than 3/16"

 

Welcome back stateside, how was the trip?

 

If your wanting sliders and skids from the same dealer than I would look at either Relentless (ridiculous lead time) or Pelfreybilt. Neither one of these vendors are going to be the cheapest but they are both very well built

Just officially burned out on the job. Pretty much cost the company a solid chunk of change setting up a sensor incorrectly that went on a plane out here. Now I have to write up a full report about my fuck-up.

 

DANG dude. That blows.

 

The BAMF sliders are beefy and use all high strength hardware for the attachment to the frame. Any sliders worth a damn will support the weight of the truck on that side and, if they don't, they aren't sliders they're over-glorified side steps.

 

Air Force CO just ripped my manager a new hole. I'm next in line to bend over for both of them...

 

Awesome. Venice is a pretty cool city to visit. It was pretty hilarious, weather was 60-70 and sunny/overcast. All the Europeans had winter coats and hats on. Apparently that was a cold spell for them. We were in shorts/short sleeve shorts and were getting hot walking around.

Did the stereotypical gondola ride which was really neat, and a welcome break from all the walking we did. Also visited Murano and watched the glass making there which was actually pretty neat. Guys made a pitcher in about 5 minutes that sells for like 180 euro. Otherwise really just wandered the city and ate a ton of food.
