    Yup. :yay::goingcrazy: I finally tracked down something to plug the brake line with. It's pipe thread, but I'm going to use it on my old factory brake rubber brake line with some Teflon tape so if it dicks the threads up, I don't really care as long as it holds pressure. Gonna start stripping the hard lines off the axle tomorrow and hopefully I can get the system bled good enough that the front brakes will work for loading the truck on and off the trailer.

    I've been keeping an eye on the weather. Sunday looks okay, but it's likely to be raining Saturday afternoon. Is that gonna be an issue, Todd?

    1997 t4r has super duty axles, 5.13s locked front and rear. 3 link front with 14" kings. Rear 63s.
    Why clear the brake lines off. Fully pulling the rear axle?

    That's the plan. I figure it'll be easier to cut the old perches off and get the tubes ground down for the new ones with the axle completely out from under the truck...not to mention easier for Todd to weld the new ones on. :D

    Don't want to drive it all the way to Lakeland bob-tailed (with a blown out shock) with the tail lights zip-tied to the bumper. :wink:

    Can't imagine how I missed that. o_O

    Anyway, I got the axle housing stripped of all the brake junk, driveshaft, and shocks. Just have to disconnect the breather hose, cut the U-bolts, and the thing should just roll right out.

    Pretty sure it did. I just didn't notice it since I knew the shock was blown. Although I don't think it was like that for all that long since I can't imagine that it would have sat there perfectly in line with the broken end on the axle forever.

    Yeah...not. Don't need no stinkin' ton killin' my ground clearance. Wouldn't mind going with an older 'yota housing with full floating axle shafts though. Maybe something like a 9.5" housing out of an FJ.
