So flip them around so the black letters are out?

^^^ Nice. Thanks! I was on Discount Tire and on Goodyear's site and neither had the weight. Didn't think to check Tire Rack.

Yep, I'm flip them around so the black letters are in. I thought they had whites on both sides. Good deal.

Definitely looks great! I drive super long distances so I'm trying to save a little on my MPGs... So I'm trying to save weight that's all. It's only 6 pound difference between the load C and load E. They are not heavy tires at all compared to my other options in my short list, like Falken Wildpeak A/TW3, Cooper STT Pro, Toyo Open Country..., etc.

Any comments about how they wear? I really want a set for my truck in the 265/70/17E size and my dealer said they'd wear super fast. Said I should try BFG's KO2. I know a lot of guys running duratracs on bigger trucks with good results, wondering how they are on the tacoma

My buddy @sandjunkie has run 2 sets on his truck. He told me he got 50K out of each set and that snow traction only decreases after 40k miles. This so long as you rotate every 5k miles. If you live somewhere where it's all tight turns and windy roads, I would suspect you'd get 40k miles out of them instead of 50k thanks to all the braking and cornering. That's an educated guess. But on normal level roads and freeways, 50k sounds about right so long as your alignment is within spec and you rotate them every 5k.

For me, 50k is a lot. I know some guys aren't happy with anything under 65K miles, but I run mostly sports cars with sticky tires and those only last 25K miles if you are lucky. 15K if you push them hard. 10K if it's an Evo. Plus, sport tires are even pricier than these truck tires. So for me, 50K miles is one heck of a long run. I think that's all you really need to know.

Love the Duratracs as an off-road tire. Great in snow and out in the dirt. Fairly quiet when new but now that I've got 20k miles on them they are starting to get loud on the highway. They started driving me a little nuts on a 3 hour trip to Bullhead a couple weeks ago. image.jpg image.jpg

265/70/17. Not a bad tire. They just get noticeably louder about every 5k. And we all know we don't need any extra road nose

That is without a lift. No rubbing. Here it is with a leveling kit that didn't come out level.

This is definitely a late reply, but I saw this and figured I'd offer some input. I am a tire assembler for Goodyear at one the US plants. On a tire that has white lettering on one side and black lettering on the other, there is what's known as "white wall" and "black wall" in the production process. Those are of course the two sidewalls. The white wall is actually a black strip of rubber with a white rubber insert encased in it that is applied to the carcass of the tire. When the tires are put into the curing mold the lettering is pressed out along with all the other surface features of the tire, tread pattern included. Then when the tires go down to the finishing area they shave off the surface of the lettering on the white wall side and reveal the white rubber previously mentioned. This is how we get the white lettering. So yes the white rubber does goes around the whole side of that tire. Unfortunately too much curb rash on that side of the tire does make it look like crap. I haven't tried it but I hear you can put shoe polish over where the white insert is showing through to masked it. This isn't a practice Goodyear says you should do necessarily. Just an old timers trick I've heard elsewhere.

How is everyone balancing these tires? I have load range C 265/70-R17's (TRD Sport wheels) on my truck now with hammer on weights but I will be switching to load range C 265/75-R16's (TRD Off-Road wheels) in the next year or so. The problem here is that I want to paint my TRD OR wheels black and do not want to have hammer on weights.

I have a thread in this section (Life with Duratracs) that is following a set of 265/75/16 C range Duratracs through their useful life. I'm past 30,000 miles now and VERY happy with them. The balancing issues went away once I learned you need to keep air pressures above 36psi with these tires. (I run 38) In 30,000 miles, I'm measuring right at 3/32nds wear. Much of my driving is on abrasive concrete interstates, at speeds above 70mph. These tires aren't silent, but they aren't "loud" for a good off road tire either.... They are great for wet or dry traction, fantastic snow tires, and I'm averaging close to 21mpg. No vibration....no abnormal wear on the vehicle. Do get a good alignment....but that goes with any tire.

I do a fair amount of off roading. A lot of that is in rocks. Even razor sharp shale and slate.....So far, not one single cut, scuff, or abrasion. I have a CO2 tire inflation system, and ARB tire deflator....When off road, I run about 16psi at times.

I HAD "sticky weights" for some time. 2 things about them....With weights all on back side of rim, the balance job was OK, but not great. Clinch weights allow balance to be on extreme outer edge of wheel where the balance is better. And the weights my tire guys used had an adhesive that came unglued from the wheel when temps reached 95 degrees. That was a problem this summer. So I went back to old style clinch weights. Much happier with the results.

I'm in a quandary about what size tire I'll g with next. May be 285/75/16's. In which case, I'm looking at another brand that is SLIGHTLY smaller diameter than Duratrac 285's....Every little bit helps....But, If I stick with 265/75/16's, it will FOR CERTAIN be another set of Duratracs. I'm that happy with what I have.

I love my Duratracs. They're far better in the snow and rain than the three sets of BFG A/Ts I've run in the past. I'm right around 35k and they're just starting to show wear. My driving is similar to Bluegrass; mostly highway over 70mph, but mixed with city driving in down Pittsburgh where potholes are plentiful.

I recently decided to have my balance weights moved to the inside because I was planning to plasti-dip my wheels. I agree that the balance is not quite as good as it was with the outside weights.

I will say that they've started to develop a loud drone over the summer (32k-34k), similar to M/Ts I've run on Jeeps, but not quite as bad.

same trd offroad wheels, I have discount put on stickys on the inside. they dont stay stuck too good, and have to get them rebalanced every 5K or so. I dont think due to the tire, but the weights not staying put.

Hmmm...so clinch weights (painted after install to match painted wheels) or maybe Dynabeads? Or just keep the 16" alloys factory....
