    I'm Canadian...sorry for the comparison:

That's about 19.72L per 100km which is quite normal for a 4.0 with your equipment.

My friend has only a 2" levelling kit with 31" and does around 16-17 in town..................

So you have two options: Remove your toys (we both know that's not the fun option! lol) or live with it and try to adapt (slower accelerations, anticipate stops, etc etc)

Anything you do like that may or may not give you an increase but it's going to be anything amazing.
For how much you'd spend on upgrades you'd have the keep the truck forever to break even.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
My average mpg increased by 1.7 mpg when added TRD cold air intake to my 05 Prerunner.

My 15 4x4 lost 2 mpg average when added lift, armor, & 33s.

    Agreed
I tried one tank flooring it almost everywhere I went vs driving like an old person I only saw about a mile per gallon difference.

I'm pretty sure only a supercharger will make you noticeably faster...maybe one of those electric super chargers and a chip and a spoiler will add lots of speed

Spoiler won't do shit unless you put a splitter on the front end too, yo. But then you'll have to redo all the suspension to compensate for the massive downforce probs.

For the spoiler to take effect you have to add flames along the side. It's a two peice combo

    Whole lotta stuff
As said above, building your rig to be as light as possible, though subtle, will be helpful. Not for increasing MPGs, but for doing damage control with the mods you add. Try things like:
    • Investing in a good set of light-weight wheels--the primary culprit for a loss of MPG is due to bigger tire + wheel weight. Do your research and find a lighter load and weight tire with the performance you want and pair it with a wheel <20 pounds.
    • Go aluminum rather than steel.
    • Improve your driving habits to keep your RPMs on acceleration and freeway below 1,900-2,000. Your truck is the same year as mine so that means if you have an automatic, stay in and get to 5th gear as fast as possible or if you have a manual, stay in and get to 6th gear as fast as possible.
It is highly debated whether performance upgrades like a CAI actually increase MPG. What's commonly determined is that there is a slight increase in throttle sound and response. Dynos show little change.
Do you live in the mountains or at elevation? That will greatly factor in MPG numbers.
I get an average of 17 MPG with my 3" lift and 33s," but I also have no transfer case, front diff, or CV axles.

nope, regear might help a bit but not much. any armor will drop it further. Just drive like a grandma.

Be glad you have an automatic. 2,000 rpm on my 6speed is 55 mph. 67 mph is 2450 rpm. OEM tire size and ScanGauge speed/odometer readings.

I have a diesel service van, 2014 Freightliner sprinter 3500 dually- Mercedes v6 3.0L 188hp, torque is in the low 300's - average MPG is 15-17,
    Now my 2013 Tacoma DCSB SR5 4x4, v6 4.0L 2.5"lift, 285/70/17 get's the same MPG.
I am a Diesel mechanic and trust me when i tell you a diesel engine isn't always the answer. Yes it will give you a boat load of torque and quite a bit of HP, compared to a gas engine, but the MPG is pretty similar. So wishing for a diesel in these trucks IMO would be a great option for towing, but for MPG, why bother. Unless it will get 28+MPG guarantied.

What works best for me and my 35's:

In town: Try your best to pretend your an old grandma. (Not joking)

Freeway: Draft an 18 wheeler closely. (Got 19+ mpgs one time!)
