I ordered mine and waited. Easiest way to get the model and color I wanted. But no I would personally pay extra just for the color I wanted.

Well I have to order the black one, should be in by the end of the month. The MGM is already at a dealership that needs to be traded for. $2k just seems like a lot of money for a color, but it does look very good in these posted pictures.

Are the trim levels the same on both trucks? Shouldn't be for that much cost difference.

Black looks great right after it's washed but much harder to keep looking clean. Go with MGM.

It shouldn't be a big deal for your dealership to do a dealer trade with another dealership to get you the truck you want. I ordered mine because I wanted a manual trans and MGM and there weren't any available at the time to trade. They accidentally ordered a black one first time around. I told them I wished them luck selling it, I'll wait for the color I want. It was worth waiting another month or so.

Its an illusion. Both me and my ultra criical wife inspected the color closely when it came in....as good of a match as you can get. If i get better pics, i'll post. BTW...the auto lock that works with your key fob is A MUST.

To me, there shouldn't be any cost difference between colors. I'd find another dealer and NOT settle for something you don't want.

Actually it looks like carpet but it's not. It's also designed to use in an open bed truck. You can throw dirt, haul debris, etc and it can be hosed out and cleaned. I use it like a big trunk while at the same time not being afraid to put anything in there. As for installation it was done at the same time of the tonneau cover. You can get the full system like I have or they make a kit that just covers the bed. Its nice for the old knees too because it has a degree of some sort of padding. Checkout "Bedrug.com" and read up on it. They did a nice job in maintaining the tie downs and fit and finish job around the cubby compartments too.

I like that. How much did that set you back and how easy is it to take on and off?

I ended up paying $2500 with vented windoors, tilt down front window, rack mounts, carpet headliner, and dual latches on the rear, I think the base price was $1700 at Phoenix conversions in Knoxville. It looks pretty simple to remove, it's got 4 clamps that mount to the track in the bed and a connection for the brake light just like aNY othe canopy. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to remove with a helper.

I agree, although having dealt with metallic colors for my work I learned that they do cost substantially more.
