OK, I'm sorry about posting this thread... but I can't help myself.

What is the point of those window visor things that people put on the top of their side window frames? I have no idea what the point is. I think they look really stupid too, but maybe they have a good purpose. The only thing I can think of is maybe you want to leave your window cracked in the rain.. I guess if you're a smoker of something or somebody rips a nasty fart in the rain?

    • leave windows cracked during hot days while parked for airflow
    • get moisture out of cabin when entering while wet and driving in the rain
    that's about it

MOD please delete this thread. I coincidentally posted this at the same time someone else posted a similar thread and my question was answered.

During the summer here, it gets quite hot. We also get frequent spot showers even if it is hot. Usually not enough to cool things down, just enough to make things extra humid.

Anyway, it allows me to crack my windows without worrying about getting the inside soaked.

I haven't had problems with mine. Care to elaborate?

I use them so that I can keep my windows cracked open overnight. I am a roofer by trade, so needless to say I dont smell that great on my drive home from work. I like to let it vent some overnight without worrying about rain.

Ahahha! I cracked up. I have a new name for these!

I guess I can see where these might come in handy beyond storm farts :)
I just like that sleeker look on my truck. Some of these RDFGs look better than others for sure.

I admit, some of the stick-on over window vents look funky. But, the In-channel low-profile visors have a pretty sleek look to them. Plus all the benefits listed above^

I have to admit I put them on every vehicle I get but I'm not sure if they do anything. I used to have the really wide ones several years ago and I think they worked better.

I've had them on a few cars. I liked them. They helped reduce wind noise and turbulence when the windows were open.
