What is a fair price to have the Toytec ultimate 3" lift installed?

First of all I know that prices can vary depending on geographical location. I am just trying to get a ballpark idea. I happen to live in south Florida. I am having the lift installed on my 2001 ext cab 4wd sr5. I also opted for the add-a-leaf in the back and the light racing uca's. The guy at Toytec said it is about a 4hr install for a service garage. I have read many posts about members installing the kit themselves. My mechanic seems to think otherwise. My shop is good, and I trust them, but they are not one of those 4x4 truck shops. I assume it would take a little longer for them, but I don't want to pay them to learn on my truck. Would love to hear from people who have paid for the install, and the do-it-your-selfers about how long it took. I am by no means a mechanic, but I am fairly mechanical. Thanks in advance.

Install is pretty easy even for a novice mechanic. Everything except putting the aal on is a matter of unbolting old stuff and bolting new stuff on.

Alot of videos on YouTube to show you how to put aal on. Its pretty straight forward aswell.

    Undo u bolts
Clamp the leafs together on bothsides
    Remove center pin
    Back off clamps
    Install aal
Tighten pin till all leafs are tight together.
    Cut off excess
    Torque down new u bolts

i have paid nothing for installation of my suspension and bumpers except for beer and getting a couple locals.. this is your best bet.

You get free ish labor and you bond with new members in the area.

This! You get to meet the locals, many of which have experience, and you make some new friends. This works really well as long as you aren't in one of our AZ threads that get shut down :annoyed:

So I think the only fair question is where in the world are you lol.

In reality I've installed two different lifts and each time it will vary. You never know what might need to get cut out and you have to start hunting for the replacement parts. Also once your in there you might decide you want to replace some other parts like the bushings, tie rods and so on depending on the shape there in. Because of this they've always taken me forever to do.

A realistic time frame in the driveway would be a weekend if most goes well, you have all the right parts, tools and a little help.

I'll have to look into. I'm still learning my way around this website. It wasn't just till the other day I figured out there was a whole crap tons of separate forums other than 1st-3rd gen and the buy sell section.

If DIYers like ourselves do it he wont make any money lol. I still vote for letting your tw buddies who have installed one help ya. that way you can actually learn how the components go on and not have that confused look on your face if something ever goes wrong

Most of the time, it's all about having the right tools! I put my lift on at my college auto shop in a few hours front adjustable 5100's w Eibach coils. Camburg UCA's were a monster in themselves!!! So add a little bit more time to the install! And 1.5" AAL's with 5100's in the back. Spring compressor - priceless!!! Impact gun too! Just to name a few!
