    I've been crazy busy and wasted a good bit of my time trying to rebuild my garage door opener, which no opens and closes but doesn't stop, so the limiters are no longer working.

    Built my 8x12 shed exactly like this. Best part about building your own is doing taller walls since the manufactured ones come with 7 foot walls. Taller walls = more storage space.

    I also try to wait for loud stuff til around 9.

    This... plus it was a free sample window that was left at my house when I put in new windows. Had to use it somehow. The window does take a bunch of wall storage away though. I also put in some cheap (<$50) solar lighting so I have lights in there at night.

    The place I looked at kits, the kits weren't bad for a basic shed. They came with 8ft walls and everything I just knew I'd be making modifications so there really wasn't going to be any savings. Overall it'll cost a bit more than a kit the same size but will be a lot better built.

    I didn't get hardly anything done on it this weekend. Decided to be a rainy weekend and probably week too. So got the floor finished up and the two long sides framed up and just laying on the floor.

    I don't plan on a window on mine but it's going to have a big door (8ft wide by 7ft tall) which should let in plenty of light

    Mine was significantly cheaper than any kit I could find and much better built. Ended up spending right around 1100. Are you using a roll-up or overhead door?

    In all reality , the kits are for people that aren't confident in building it themselves or don't have the time or tools

    Mine will be more than a kit, but it's also built quite differently and will last a long time. As for doors, right now planning on just two barn style doors. But I'm keeping an eye out for good deal on a roll up since I can still change that wall right now.

    Or I should add a kit from a lumber yard, not the over priced crap kits they have at Lowe's/home Depot.

    @joshua721

    I was talking to somebody else about framing nailers in another thread but thought you might be interested in this ;

    "This thing is cool too but might not be useful for you but it allows you to not only split off hoses from a mainline but 2 of the fittings are pass through with the compressor pressure while the other 2 can be seperately regulated

    Good for situations like running a framer and finishing or roofing guns together

    Neat, not much use on site for me but in the shop where I'm swapping between trim and pinner that would be very nice. The grex pinner is super sensitive to pressure

    Well supposed to have two nice days then a "30% chance of rain" the next day so figured I'd work for a bit. Working 10's and getting up at 3:40 in the morning doesnt leave me wanting to work to long in the evenings.

    My dumbass made the SAME MISTAKE with the 16' 2x4's. They were 16 and 3/8" long or so so after i stood one wall up (after making both) i realized it was to long. D'oh! Someday Ill learn!

    Other than that it was smooth and not that bad to do solo. The GF "helped" make the walls. She marked where the studs go and hammered in maybe 1/4 of the nails. But it was fun to do it with it with her!

    Those walls are 16' tall ?

    EDIT ; or do you mean you split 16's into 8's ?
