Man, that sucks. How'd you do that?

 

I have no clue, I was just driving my friend to his house after helping with the install. We hit a few depressions at normal speed, but nothing that I've haven't ever done when it was stock

Define..blown

 

How is the shock blown? Leaking its oil? Lost its nitrogen charge? Is it still intact otherwise?

 

The oil decided to leave the shock body, and paste itself all over my wheel well, brand new tires/wheels, and the road. It is intact, and it appears as though the oil came through the nut where the resevoir line connects to the body. I know it's blown because I've blown a fox bike shock before, same thing, oil everywhere. Had to send it in the be rebuilt

 

Lol dude you probably let the the hose losses the AN connector when installing it. It's not blown up. Just leaked all out.

 

I made sure to specifically not touch that nut, but maybe there was too much pressure on the hose mount from where the resevoir was mounted to the body?

 

Whoever sold it to you should take care of this I would think. Was it DSM?

At least it is still rebuildable.

I found a road for you to continue the beartooth road fest. Highway 78 our if red lodge to Columbus. If anything, ben you should take this to red lodge. Be a great build up to the beartooth

 

Yea it's a fun llittle road. Could do a loop too once you get from Columbusgo sout on another back road. They redid a big chunk of it though so that one isn't as fun anymore.

 

All I saw was he blew a fox and then it was disgusting so I didn't read the other mumbo jumbo.......

Still a lot of money. I guess it would depend on condition and mileage. The ad doesn't say how many miles are on it.

You'd be pretty much on your own to maintain that anyway. Not a dealer repair item. It is 25 years old afterall.
