Sweet. Sounds like she got bumped up a bit. I think I can run a 4790k on my board but I'll have to flash the bios.
The performance is negligible compared to my 4770k. And it's plenty of power at 4.6 oc.

I've been trying to justify spending $1200 on a pair of 980ti cards but these 770 oc cards are still running g everything I throw at em.

Mobo. Nothing crazy fancy, but it was within my budget.

    Cool.
I too run mostly steam games.
But today I found myself playing BF2 aix mod. crazy how far gaming has come. I still play BF Vietnam every once in a while as well.

I play BC2 Vietnam quite a bit, BC2 will most likely always be my favorite Battlefield, never played the regular BF2 though. Haven't played much of anything lately really, just some old racing games mostly. NFS underground 2, Midnight Club 2 etc. I have Grid Autosport but don't care for it much. I splurged hard on Fallout 4 and racked up over 200 hours but haven't touched it in a while.

I believe the 4790k is the same chip as the 4770k, but slightly tweaked for better overclocking. Mine can do 4.8GHz on air.

Don't buy any 980ti's yet. NVIDIA recently announced the 1080 and 1070 line. I am expecting the 970, 980, and 980ti will probably see a price drop in the next month when the new ones are released. If/when that happens, I am hoping to scoop some of those lovely 980s up.

Don't buy 980 at all now. The 1070 will outperform it at a price lower than I expect the 980s to go.

That would be nice. I hope thats the case. From what I have read, they are saying the 1080 will beat the Titan X at expected price around $600 vs the Titan X's current price of $999

I hope they aren't any longer or wider that my x2 770sc. Barely enough room between them to breathe.

    Nice!

It is showing a recommended power supply of 850w just for 1 card.
So yea, you're going to have to bump the power supply up for sure.

    Drop it in another rig.
I would love to build a portable lan box. Usually I take my gaming laptop with me on vacations but a portable lan box with a full length vid card would be sweet.

Use a fish tank full of mineral oil and put everything in but the HDD. Well, I guess an SSD could probably go in, but they say the platter drives don't play well spinning in the higher viscosity of the oil. https://www.pugetsystems.com/submerged.php Or, you could get a mini fridge, mount everything inside, and cut a hole for the cabling to come out :)
Be careful with those 390x's. They are power hungry monsters and produce a LOT of heat. I have used them and the 290x's and they are basically the same. I can't run two on a 1000W PSU without overloading it. And if you put them back to back in the case, the top card will overheat the bottom card so make sure there is plenty of room for airflow between them. I like reference design blowers on cards. Closed heatsink shroud design blows the hot air out the back of the case, not all throughout the inside. the GTX 980 is a sweet card and only requires two 6 pin connectors. I think TDP is less than 200W for that card. Prices are already starting to drop a hair with NVIDIAs announcement of the 1080 and 1070 cards. Can't wait to see what those sweet cards will be able to handle.

The mineral oil tank might not work with a high end PC, and I'd be afraid of condensation in the fridge or burning it out.

Right. I'm pretty sure the best cooling solutions are on the market right now. Plenty of closed loop watercoolers and if your into air cooling,
check out "Noctua" fans. Some quality stuff.

I have a Noctua DH-15. Works well cooling off my 4790k.
