Hey, Isearched but as this is a unique question, I didnt find any answers. Would an unbranded prerunner style tire gate that is mounted on a 1990 toyota pickup fit on my 03 tacoma? my brother has an 89 and his tailgate area opening is identical to mine so I dont see why not but maybe someone has some info on this?

If it mounts up utilizing the tail gate mounting holes i cant imagine they are in the same places or even the same style from the 80's to 2003. I could be wrong though. But if you have your buddies rig to compare it shouldnt be hard to park next to eachother and do a direct comparison right?

I have the trucks and compared them, the measurements are the same but not sure how it mounts because the tire gate is in onther state actually the complete otherside of the country. It's the kind that swings out, hinged to one side

Ahh i see. Well if your brothers 89 has the same mounting setup for the tailgate as your truck id guess the '90 would be the same as the '89. I know for example the wilco tire gate uses the tailgate mounts to bolt their tire gate up with..
