I assume you know about TIS? Go pay the 15 dollar fee, down load all the applicable EWDs for both the Tacoma and the donor vehicle and start tracing and labeling wires. As long as there isn't any anti theft stuff built into that motor, then it should be relatively straight forward to get it running.

I have looked everywhere for something like that but could never find anything. Thank you so much. EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Fortunately both ecu's are non-immobilizer so I am golden. Thanks again! At least I'll be able to trace the fuel pump and stuff like that a lot easier with TIS. As for an actual harness someday, it looks like tweaked performance is the way to go for me personally after emailing several different companies including the above posted ones by you guys.

Here's a picture I took from a couple weeks ago just before the AC was totally hooked up. Radiators for motor and transmission have been ordered as of yesterday, last minute switch to Summit branded fans, and all the fittings for plumbing have been ordered. Making new hard-line for the transmission too. Pretty excited to try that out. PS: Don't laugh at the brake booster....I'll figure something out with that...

Thanks again for all the kind and very helpful input, everyone! I've certainly learned a lot so far tackling this.

UPDATE!! An IS300 brake booster and pedal assembly fit like it was made for it and clears the intake manifold. Test fitting the radiator and transmission cooler (hanging a bit low because of zip ties) and getting a ballpark idea of how I am going to mount them. The fans are hidden between the radiator and the A/C condenser which is kind of neat. I welded a AN-6 fitting onto the power steering high pressure output and return reservoir and used some stainless steel fittings along with high pressure black braided line and made my own power steering hoses. They look sick. Ignore the hacked up little boot on the intake. Will refine that later...

How big is that radiator compared to the stock one?

They're similar in size other than the aftermarket one being about half an inch thicker. What differs is that the aftermarket is of a crossflow design. The stocker is of a downflow construction (I believe...having a blank moment right now).

Looks good in that engine bay. I really was considering a 2jz swap before I decided to just build up a 5vz. Can't wait to see it finished.

Thank you! To be honest- obviously things don't just "fit" together with any kind of swap, but everything kind of meshes in together (if you will..) quite nicely. Even the factory airbox tubing almost lined up! Unfortunately not good enough to make it work though haha.

Anything specific you have in mind that you'd like to share for your 5vz build? I'd love to hear!

My girlfriend's busted 5vz is sitting outback right now. It'd be pretty sweet to fix it up and do something like headers and a supercharger. Don't want to deal with turbo stuff just yet. Although I might have a different opinion on that as time comes. But more than anything else that I want to do is stick it in the tiny little regular cab prerunner I drive every day. Someday.........

I'm going to be trying to get the most out of a trd supercharger with the stock ecu and urd 7th injector. so i'll be doing port matching in the valve train, converting to shimless buckets polishing the combustion chambers and just going through to make it flow great. as for the bottom end I have a brand new Toyota 3vz-fe camry crank and some pauter rods. I'm waiting on machine work to order pistons but i'll probably be going with forged pistons as well. its a long term project since the trucks no longer my daily driver. It'll be able to handle way more than i'll be throwing at it.

The 5vz is setup to be a real screamer because of its bore/stroke. its a large bore fairly short stroke engine. so my original engine will probably be built into a n/a beast since the block may be to far rusted to be put under heavy boost

How did you mount it, and where are the inlet and outlets? I'm looking for a better radiator for my v8.

You know what an L-bracket looks like? Think of that, but running the length of the radiator. Super easy to make. I'll post a picture in a week or two to show you. Radiator inlet is top driver side and outlet is bottom passenger side.

What really helped me was going on Summit Racings website and using the search filters. Search radiator, then you can narrow it down to inlet/outlet size, thickness, width/length, design style, etc.

So you are using a "custom" radiator and not one from a supra or the Lexus car that the new came from?

I'm using a Champion Nissan 81-83 280zx radiator. Its pretty thick, but not very tall. I'd like to find one that was the same size as the original Tacoma radiator..

Currently the 280zx radiator is working ok, unless I am trying to climb a long hill at slow speeds , or idling or slow speed with the AC on when it's really hot outside.

Here is my set up w/ twin 11" spal slim line fans.

Wow that is a crazy looking outlet on that radiator!!

The thing is, the radiator I picked is only a bit thicker than stock. Dimensions HXL is about the same. I almost went with Spal but ended up going with the Summit Branded Fans. I think if I do run into heat problems that aren't overly bad then I'll most likely go with Spals and their slim line like you have.

Do you have much space between your motor and the radiator or is it a tight squeeze as is with the current slim fan setup you have going on? One thing for me being an automatic, I went with an external transmission cooler just to get a tad bit more water volume and cooling surface on the radiator.

    There is zero room

I have zero room between my current radiator and the pulleys. The fan pulley actually spins directly next to fan, has cut a small groove in one part if it. I really need a thinner, and taller radiator.

The lower outlet was add to replace "frankenhose".. 3 pieces of hose, two couplers, and 6 hose clamps...

I was running a single 13" fan, but it switched to the twin 11" fans for more fun coverage. You can see the outline of the 13" fan on the radiator.

How long is the 2jz? The v8 sits right against the firewall. I knocked a little dent in the right side of the firewall to clear the top corner of the right head.
