Those UCA's will drastically reduce that shitty old Jeep with a straight axle driving feel and tighten up the system. I'd recommend it for the tire wear and the stability. I can't stand when my brand new vehicle doesn't have a good feel when driving it. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying new

Icon to Fox to King are pretty comparable. Icons digressive valving tends to lead towards a better ride on a daily driver and they have done a lot more R&D in terms of initial valving and shock lengths. The valving in a King or Fox shock is more generic. In the dirt all three are great options so pick your favorite and go with it.

I personally run Icons due to how much research they have done. For example, on my Camburg LT kit my Icons are a 9.5" stroke where as Fox or King would only be an 8" Shock which yields an extra couple inches of wheel travel. This is because Icon has done some specific engineering to build a shock specific to that kit and not just an off the shelf shock. This is what separates them from the other 2 and the fact that they havd engineered a complete suspension system including UCA's and AALs that are all designed to work around their shocks for optimal performance.

Do you have kit recommendations? Like I said, I don't need anything crazy... but I'd like to be able to run dirt roads fairly fast without the jarring and I am running E Load tires. I want to maintain my 1.5 inches of lift but have as good of a ride as possible for as cheap as possible. I know I'll be in for coilovers, UCAs, and a leaf pack. What do you suggest for how I run my truck?

I think an Icon Stage 3 with or without the AAL would be a great starting place. That's an extended travel Coilover, UCA and 2.0 RR Rear Shocks. If you are only looking at a 1.5" Front lift its entirely up to you if you wanted to run the AAL or not but it would give your truck a factoryish rake which kind of defeats the purpose of "leveling" your truck up front.

I prefer a bit of rake. I have blocks in the rear now but I know that isn't exactly ideal. I was looking at the Icon Stage 3 with the Uniball UCA actually. I know that it has remote reservoir coilovers up front, so do you think that might be overkill?

The Stage 3 kit is a non-resi front C/O and a RR rear shock. Stage 4 you get into the RR Coilovers

My mistake. It was the stage 4 kit I was looking at. So with the resis, worth the extra $300 or not?

I would always say yes if you're on the fence about them or not because its closer to $900 to add them after the fact, but at the same time it may be overkill for what you need. Shocks in general are all about heat dissipation and heat dissipation is all about oil capacity. The RR's greatly increase the oil capacity of the shock, which in turn keeps them cooler and functioning properly longer through-out the course of your day off-road.

Same goes for the CDC adjusters if you decide on RR's, its only a $256 upgrade initially and well worth it but considerably more expensive to add after the fact.

Just ordered my Boss 2.0 setup. The 2.5 was out of stock and I don't plan to do anything to crazy 4 wheeling. I'm having a local shop install them, so they will be installed June 20th now.

Anyone running LR UCA's on their BOSS setup? How do you like it? Considering BOSS over OME with LR UCA's but curious if snyone wished they'd gone with Total Chaos.

Can anyone tell me what the difference would be for a daily driver and occasional weekend warrior, Total Chaos vs LR?

Also, my rear leaf springs squeak. I was leaning OME because it comes with new leafs vs AAL. Problem solved right? Anyone else have this issue, and could you fix it? 2016 Off Road at 5.4k miles.

A small handful of select mods.
LR works great with the BOSS setups. I have run this for that last 5yrs on my 2nd gen. Also this will end up be being a much quieter set up for a daily driver/weekend warrior as you state. The BJ also now has a zerk on the top so maintenance is breeze and the lengthens the life of the BJ.

In regards to squeaking leaf pack yes the OME pack will ultimately be the best solution. The friction pads between the leaves are the solution. I have not seen anyone address this yet on a 3rd gen so I don't know if there is a full proof solution. When mine leaks I will just dose them i white lithium grease but that also collected dirt so I worked for a short time but not for very long.

Let me know if you have any other questions oh and check you PM's.

Are you guys getting any rake with the fronts at 3" and the progressive AAL's? I'm still reading the thread so maybe this has been talked about.

I would rather go with a Dakar pack but $$$. I don't do any towing or hauling... maybe once a year I get a load of dirt.

to many to list, check the build thread
I currently sit a little ass high with the dakar pack and my BOSS coilovers up front set to give me 3" of lift.

I am getting some rake, which I want, with Boss set at full 3" in front and Wheelers 8 leaf spring pack in rear which gave me 2 1/2" of lift.

10-4 appreciate that. From what I read the 8 leaf pack rides smooth.

I run this setup on my 2016. Was very easy to align and no noise, no clanking, no issues at all.
I used Wheelers 8 leaf spring pack in rear and have had zero squeaks and creaks. Very pleased with this setup as a daily driver.
I am sure you would be happy with Total Chaos UCA's, just observe how to care for uniballs. Plenty of info on this forum about that subject. I am not sure they are worth the extra $$ for daily driver use. LR's fit that bill just fine.

I finally got my Toytec Boss 2.0 suspension lift installed and have to say the ride is so much better than toe original suspension. Smoother over the bumps and much more planted feeling.

Solid 2" all around. I'll see what it becomes once it settles.
