I have an 05 TRD OR 4WD. I notice the other day my fog light switch has a bulb in it but it doesn't light up. I know on the 09 models the fog light switch lights up. Is light dead or is this normal for the 05's ?

The LED bulb is dead. I'm after replacing several in the RR Locker and fog light switch. They don't last long and the only place I've located them is the dealer.

They light up in all years. Take the bulb out and go to the dealer. It's like 2 dollars for each one.

Is there an easy way to get to it that I don't know about? Right now I'm mentally preparing to dump the whole dash.

The switch lights up with parking lights but does not light up any differently when fogs are actually on.

I have an '06 and didn't light initially until I tapped it enough times for it to come on. It's been about 5 months and has been on ever since. I have a friend with an '07 and his is also lit.

Well, after initially posting that my fog-light switch has never lite up I went out to the truck and after turning on the parking/headlights it does. I guess I was thinking more about the fact that there's no light on the dash to let you know when the fog-lights are on or off.

It was suggested in another thread that you may be able to pull the little cubby insert (coin drawer) out and pop the switch out from the backside.

Another member suggested using a screwdriver. See the linked thread above for more details.

Here is a diagram which shows the cubby insert.

Switch can't be pryed out with a screwdriver or pushed out from the rear by removing the coin tray (not unless you have 8 yr old girl hands).

From what I remember you have to remove the screws on the lower portion of the dash and fold it downward towards the floor. This will give you access to the screws for the top (black) portion of the dash. Remove enough screws until you can gain access to the back of the switch, unplug the harness, and remove.

I can repeat this post until everyone understands...............and we are talking about the factory switch. Unless the bulb is burnt out it works as posted.
