Do you need permission if the bear is threatening you? Shoot, shovel, and shut up they say, but a bear is pretty big to hide if you don't have a backhoe.

I still regret not shooting the raccoon that was threatening me after I caught it molesting my garbage. It was a standoff, I had my finger in the trigger guard and a safe backstop. The raccoon was hissing at me. it didn't charge. Raccoon would have gone in the meat scraps recycling bin.

It was a bummer they had rules and limits as well. Think the max was 37" tires. Alot of the vehicles were also purchased really close to the show starting so they werent truly trail tested either. Thought i remembered something about if the vehicle broke down the show wasnt paying to have it fixed and/or recovered hence why they bought cheap "disposable" ones instead of their real rigs.

    but still an entertaining show!

If an animal attacks you, you have the right to shoot it. Same "stand your ground" rules apply. BUT you have to call it in and report. Its the people who shoot it then try to harvest it that get in trouble. Shoot it cause you are in danger and report it and youll be fine. Not sure if WA and OR have one but other state shave charities that will be called and they get the meat and feed homeless/poor people with it

Yeah the guys that get caught poaching animals usually have charges pressed and the animal is sent to a food bank or such for processing.

And you can pick up some nice rifles at auction!

The harvesting hit deer is a good idea. I'll pass on it though. Saw two hit deer that were attempted to harvest. The meat was a mess and hardly worth it. Having to deal with the entrails and all makes it meh to me

No permission needed if it's threatening me or the livestock on the farm. It's a lazy bear though that was going for the trash, so the chances of him developing some balls and going after the sheep or goats is slim

My thinking is it's dark and you go outside to scare off the bear and it's threatening you so the shotgun must be used, there are no witnesses. Does the dept of fish and game come and remove the bear remains? Best use slugs so it's hard to see how far from the bear you were.

I saw a bear up close once near Cle Elum, I looked at the bear, bear looked and me then walked off, so no problem. It was cinnamon color, not black. Alas there are no pictures, no time to get the camera out and I was riding a horse. Bear didn't scare the horse but she was a brave adventure horse, she had no problem going on overnight trips without other horses.

Got those rims mounted. They look so much better than the stock rims with the blizzaks. Now I'm ready for camping, wheeling and meetsimage.jpg

I'm not sure how you managed to take such a terribly awkward picture.

I think the wheels look nice though.

Yeah it's a cell phone pic as I was walking in, the truck is on a hill. They are the fn five stars in 16x8 with a -25mm offset and a 3.52" back spacing.
