Suggested dealer services???

I have an 05 Tacoma double cab SR5 with 53K miles. My dealer suggested two servies and each run about $120. I was not given a very good reason for these services, only that they are recommended. Here the are: Replace Power Steering Fluid and Throttle Body Service. I cannot find any reference to these services on the Toyota home page. What are your thoughts?

 

i would clean the throttle body myself.....a lil seafoam deep creep and a tooth brush and some paper towels..and you are set. now way in hell would i pay $120 for that. and the p/s fluid change......not necessary at 50k miles. the dealerships add all these lil services...just because they catch peoples eyes...and the dealers make a killing off them cause folks dont know any better.

The power steering fluid might need to be replaced at 50K- Depending on use of vehicle and time that fluid has been in there. Gotta look at the color and think about the driving "feel" Has the steering changed at all over time??

The Throttle Bottle cleaning- Do it yourself just like those guys said.

 

Thank you very much for your fast replies. I am not a good mechanic and will not try your recommendations as posted. I will, however find a good shade tree mechanic who should be able to perform the services at a reasonable rate.
