No doubt. I read two articles today about Yellowstone tourists fucking things up already.

Probably time to have hunters come in and clear out some tourist population in bison country.

And yes I know you're in Yosemite. I'm just saying.. it's officially starting for the 2016 season.

    ...too much shit to list.
Easy peasy. The Game Center API has literally infinite possibilities. You could challenge your friends to a good old fashioned frosted cookie contest. But alas, Apple is too reserved for such competition

I left my phone in my board shorts whilst jet skiing during beta testing. 37,000 strokes in a matter of 4 hours. Oops.

    Oh you...

Hey CUFFS, if that is your real name, we're renting a house near Fish Camp this weekend, with kids aging 2 years, 9 mos, and , uh, 2 mos. Looking for mellow hikes we can manage with them on the south side of the park likely avoiding the Valley and Tuolumne altogether. Sequoia grove is obvious, and a drive out to Glacier Point. Can you recommend any other generally easy/flattish dayhikes on the south side? Usually my wife and I would head straight up Cloud's Rest or Voglesang or something. So we are kinda at a loss with bambinos in tow, and way out of shape.

    Hep. Hep me please.

Uh oh. Older gentleman coworker near me is losing his mind about his phone. Sounds like it keeps freezing and he keeps restarting it. But in between that he keeps slamming it on the desk and throwing against the back wall.

    Yeehaw!

    1. I highly advise against going into the Valley at all unless you are on the road from Fish Camp by 0700. Seriously. Packed by 9am, no parking. Plus there a big SAR training event and that's adding more people to the mess.

    2. Mariposa Grove of sequoia is closed for renovation. Sorry. No one gets in at all.

    3. Glacier Point. Like the valley, unless you hit the road at 7am, it will be a traffic nightmare...

Good hikes just 6 miles inside park in community of Wawona.

    A. Park near the pioneer history area. See the historic hotel. Drinks on veranda...

From there, cross the street towards the golf course on a dirt road. A hundred yards up will be a sign board for the trail Wawona Meadow Loop. Roughly 3 mile loop but very easy walking. Or just go as far as you want and turn around...

    B. Go 1/4 mile N on 41 from Pioneer area, turn right on Chilnualna Falls Rd. Follow to very end (2 mi?) to parking area. (You'll cross a single lane bridge and it looks like you went the wrong way, but keep going!)
There's a trail that runs back to a swinging bridge at the S Fork of Merced River. Flat level walk.

    C. Back out C Falls Rd a bit is a parking lot you already passed. From that spot you can hike up to some cascades. All the water is moving very well right now. A slight climb, stop and turn around at any point. The top of the falls is 4 miles straight up.

Also, south of the park is lots of national forest land. As you drive up 41 from Oakhurst, you'll see a brown trail sign for Lewis Creek. I've not personally hiked this one but I'm told it's a pretty cascade and fairly easy walk.

If you need food/restaurant info, let me know!

There's shit that's gone down here too but I'm mystified as to why they'd keep it quiet.

Yelly got hit with a couple back to back fools...

Nice, thanks. Yeah, Valley, schools out, fuck that shit.

    WTF with Mariposa Grove!!! Dammit!

Thanks for the tips on those hikes near Wawona, that sound perfect. With the wee ones, straying too far from home, especially in potential traffic...well, kill me now.

We plan to generally make meals at the house...easier with bambinos again, but...best burger and pizza joints in Oakhurst/Fish Camp area please.:)

    Damn.

This is what we strive to get back to in a few years.

Oh, wait, I should quiz you. Name the spot.

Lyell canyon? I do a lot of back country skiing so these places look so different without snow!

Pizza: stay away from the pizza at Tenaya Lodge!
Sugar Pine Pizza may be worth a try, I've heard good things, but have not been there myself.
If you want a little something for both kids and adults... Southgate Brewing in Oakhurst. Great craft beer, family friendly, real wood fired pizza. (And some other good food too.) we love this place!

El Cid (Oakhurst) for decent Mexican. Ask to sit by the back window. They have a big cactus garden and many hummingbird feeders. I've counted dozens of birds at once! Kids might like that.

Get grocery at Raleys or Vons in Oakhurst. There's nothing else north of there.
