Well there's my answer. I'm in the market for sliders and I posted earlier asking for peoples advice about bolt on sliders that can support the weight of the truck. Some other guy sent a link about this company and their sliders. After this post I'm gonna buy from these guys.

    @Marcmtb1 ,

I have a TRD Sport 4x2 v6 and it's been about 3 weeks now. About 900 something miles altogether. How in the world are you able to get that much mileage? I'm hardly getting 14.1, the best got is 15. I'm genuinely confused. I'm really thinking of asking toyota what the f is wrong w. my truck. I'm getting no where near advertised mileage. I'm not very heavy footed, but I often gun it closer to 90 and 100 sometimes when on the interstate. I shift between Drive and Sport mode often. But who doesn't? I only take it to work and back, so far. I don't spend much time idle-ing. I have only used Shell mid-grade or Premium grade V-tech gasoline in my truck so far. About 5 refills now, and I'm getting far less mileage than my 17yr old v6 Camry gives me (19 ~ 21).

Is anybody else getting poor mileage as mine as well?

Also Marcmtb1, what is the purpose of that oil catch can? Why did you install it, and how is it useful? How much did it cost, and is installation difficult?

*(Here in San Diego, cops are cool with 80+ on the freeways, but if they see you taking it to 95+, they might ticket you. People are always often 10 or 15+ no matter what the speed limit is, and almost all cops so far are ok with that. 10yrs here so far, never got a speeding ticket. In-fact if you get a speeding ticket in SD, you really messed up.)

At 900 miles your engine needs to be properly broken in. Vary up the rpms by never going the same speed slowing down and speeding up till around 1500 miles.. Don't cruise at a static rpms and speed for extended periods of time. Wait for the truck to fully warm up before you floor it.

How long are your trips? I find Anything under 10-15 miles is going be inaccurate by the trip monitor.

I never got worse than 17 mpg brand new and now I get 22-25 mpg with the 4x4. Tonneau cover i think helps a lot as well.

I took the air dam off also. Looked like I ripped it off on a parking block. Had to put it back on. Looks fine with the black.

Man you're totally right. It's all my fault and not the thief's fault at all. In fact the thief is real victim here.

Dude I practically had eyes on my truck the whole time. It's not like I left it unsecured over night. Yes I'm dumb for leaving it unsecured for just a second, but the real problem is people who take what's not theirs

    Can't compare a car to a truck....

That being said... I'm not sure why you're not getting better fuel economy. The lowest i have seen is 13-15 when pulling a utility trailer.

I get 20+ on every tank. I see 24-26 on my current average very often but when i do the math at fill up time its always 20-22mpg per tank.

I tried premium gas. I seen no change. For around a quarter tank it looked like i was getting better mileage but once i did the math it was still the normal mpg per tank as the cheap gas.

Try the cheap gas... Don't mash the gas so hard. Don't ride the break. I like to play a game where i try and stay at or under 1500rpm. Not always possible but over 2k and fuel economy noticeably decreases.

If you keep getting 14mpg I'd have the dealership check O2 sensors and everything else... Your truck isn't 4x4 so I'd think you should be getting better mileage...

Now if your playing "need for speed" you might not ever see great fuel economy. Doing 75 drops my numbers much more than 65. I like 60mph. Good numbers.

I'm not downing you brother, everyone makes mistakes.... but you have to understand a lot of the people here are gun owners. And plenty of us are big on gun rights. What you did doesn't help the laws. It hurts us all.

Sure some thieves can break into vaults too... But they are fewer and farther between. And most of them are looking for more valuable scores.

Drug addicts or young "thieves in training", are normally in a hurry and won't spend the time on a quality vault or safe when it's properly bolted down... They want quick cash or easily sold items. Guns fall into that category.

An easy snatch is a different story. Making it easy for them puts you at fault to some degree. I know you know that, but you should expect some grief from people fighting to keep our freedoms.

Yup I got it. I definitely learned a lesson and am hyper vigilant now. I just grew up in an area where you didn't have to worry about that kind of stuff. I was naive

WRONG! The real victim/victims is whoever at the end of the barrel. Hopefully for your sake it was just some young kid looking for a iPhone to seal and came across your handgun. Not knowing what to do with it, they threw it away in a trash can where it was destroyed shortly after.

Clearly it only takes a second for something like this to happen so you need to do your part in keeping honest people honest! I had a high school friend killed with a stolen firearm so this is a touchy subject.

    Please protect our 2A!

    Dude,
don't apologize for him attacking you. Yes you made a big mistake leaving your truck unlocked. No doubt about that. But I am damn sure as an LEO he has done plenty of stupid shit in the line of duty that he won't fess up to.
I work with law-enforcement All the time, and you would be amazed at how many LEO's are completely gun ignorant, but yet still want to try to jump on someone else's shitt like they got it fully covered. And by no means would I ever not support any LEO in what they have to do in the line of duty. But all you have to do is watch shows like COPS to watch how many of them don't know about how to handle firearms and situations involving fire arms. Thinking every cop knows everything about firearms was a thought that I always had in my head until I started working with them, which is why I started working with them!

TBH it was probably a lot of me being paranoid, I'm sure I would have gotten used to it after awhile but I did notice a 1-2 mpg drop and when I'm only getting 18mpg, every little thing helps. I know gas is cheap but I'm OCD like that. The look of it doesn't bother me and when I go off road its easy enough to take off but 99.999% of my driving is commuting to work so might as well keep it on to help reduce drag. That is my personal preference but I do agree it looks better w/o.
