Ok so here I am again with my shell fit again... I am wondering if someone here find a solution to solve this problem with leer cap. I would really like to have the door closing each side on the rubber gasket...

I had the same problem with my Leer 100R. If I loosened the mounting bolts, had a friend push in on the cap from the outside, and retightened it, it would close the gap. But, within a month of driving it'd be back to the way it was before.

I just learned to live with it.

Really trying to decide if I want to keep the SnugTop that I have and get another PrinsuRack for the top of it. Or sell it locally and buy a bed rack.

According to SnugTop, the XV I have is only rated to 200lbs. So with a RTT and then myself and I am not small... that would be over the manufacturer weight limit. I love the look of the snugtop and I see the practicality of it with keeping stuff secure and dry.

Give me some opinions on what I should do!

I have seen someone here who has reinforced the shell with braces inside. The braces were going from where the crossbars are bolted to the bed rails. I don't remember who but there is a way to have it more solid to support an RTT.

I guess I will live with it too... How much torque did you put on the clamp's bolts to hold it in place after pushing the corner in?

200lbs static or dynamic? I think as with all campers that as long as you're stationary you can use an RTT.

I'm no physics expert but why would being static matter in this case? That doesn't seem like it owuld make a difference. Whether the vehicle is moving or not the downforce would be roughly the same, right? Thats a serious question (not trying to sound like a jerk).

She just said 200lbs is that capacity of it. I may think of some way to reinforce the inside of it using the round tubing. But who knows...

Enough that the bolt heads were bending and indenting the fiberglass. Didn't make any difference.

It was a bit expensive, but I ordered the Leer 100 RCC, 400 pounds dynamic capacity.

    Needing some help guys.

Since SnugTop said that my camper shell only had a 200lb weight capacity on it. I am up in the air on if I want to sell it and save up for a Rebel with Windoors and throw a Prinsu rack on it, or keep what I have now, not have Windoors and then just get a Prinsu rack for the top of it and if I get a RTT, throw it up there and hope for the best?

What do y'all think? Keep the SnugTop I have and just get a Prinsu rack for the top of it that will distribute the weight of a RTT and myself on it. Or Sell it locally and then get another one that has the Windoors that I want?

Sell the one you have now and get the one you want. You will never be happy with what you have now and if you keep it you will always regret not getting want you really wanted in the first place.

Yea that is what I am thinking... but then again the price I paid for this thing was worth it to not have the Windoors.

From what you have posted you already know what you want and no matter what anyone tells you what they would do you have to be happy with the final results so you might as well bite the bullet and order a new shell with all the options you want.

I think I can live without the windoors as the price of a new shell compared to what I paid for this shell is pretty substantial now that I have pricing from dealer. Plus for the money I saved buying used compared to new, that would cover the price of a new rear bumper with swingout.

I think I am just going to save up for a Prinsu rack for the top of it so I can put an awning on it for the mean time and either get a RTT and see how it works and possibly build some bracing for under the shell. Or just start a trailer build someday. I can live with a regular tent for a while as I would rather have under armour and front and rear bumpers first.
