Yeah now that I think about it I didn't check the clearance between that and the rotor. Just the shield and the inside rim. I'll give it a shot in the AM thanks for the tip

But it looks like it does, which may be all that matters. Well, that and if you smear some red paint on the axe head ...

Kind of interesting not that it matters but the r150f and the jeep ax15 are the same minus a few bellhousing differences and some clutch stuff. It is possible to run an Ax15 in your Tacoma and throw a roc trac 4/1 atlas or 231/300 doubler in.

F is for 4x4 v6. I wasnt sure if there were any differences in years that would cause difficulties in a swap.

Oh now you just want to throw my moneys away!

Whatever. I always mix up the two from my supra days.

    No..

The ax15 is like the a340 I thought. Not the r150. Which is an auto.

As far as I know the ax15 and r150 are both manual transmissions. It's been awhile but iirc you can swap the bellhousing clutch and other parts and it will bolt right in. eitherway jeep is in bed with Toyota as far as transmissions go.

    Found it

Someone suggesting just removing the dust shield. I'll prolly do that next time I'm in there. I hate not being able to see the back side of the rotor. If the front can be open then why not the back?

I got some air in the brake line somehow which caused the inner pad to not press hard on the rotor. The only way I figured it out is that I had the wheel off and noticed that the inner pads were not wearing and were thicker. I could just barely see that the inner side of the rotor was all oxidized and obviously not making good contact which I would have noticed immediately if the dust shield had not been on there.

If it is a frozen caliper and you have 16" rim's you might wanna just consider doing the Tundra upgrade.

I know. I was hoping this would give me an excuse to spend the money to do it but as of now I have 15" rims. Ima see how long I can get by I took it for a test drive today and no swooshing sound. Maybe something was in there or the dust shield fixed itself. I plan on changing the brake pads and rotors for now and while I'm in there inspect everything and if it all checks out good, save up some cash from the new summer job and hopefully I can redo the front brakes before fall semester
