    I can only read so many comments like this without responding.

    I'm only including this quote to bring light to this situation to all Tacoma owners, not as a direct response to Zyler64.

    I have been informed myself that the scheduled maintenance intervals (covered by ToyotaCare btw) at:
    6 months/5,000 miles;
    12 months/10,000 miles;
    18 months/15,000 miles; and
    24 months/18,000 miles or 25,000 miles if this mileage is reached prior to 24 months;
    are "complementary."

    It is my belief the normal factory scheduled service IS NOT complementary. Toyota corporation and their dealerships use the word complementary in an indiscriminate and wrong manner, in my opinion, as it related to the scheduled service visits included with ToyotaCare. By Toyota's own definition ToyotaCare is "a no cost service plan with 24‑hour roadside assistance. The ToyotaCare plan covers normal factory scheduled service for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. 24‑hour roadside assistance is also included for 2 years and unlimited miles." (Retrieved from http://www.toyota.com/owners/parts-service/toyota-care 05/19/2016).

    It burns me when Tacoma owners defend a dealers "checking" of the ATF level using a Techstream. A Techstream does not and cannot inspect the fluid level. Regardless of how much peyote has been ingested.

    ToyotaCare is included as part of the purchase for any new Toyota vehicle. Period. Using the logic that this service is complementary would equate to any item or service not specifically purchased, being complementary (Pick any scenario. Bags for your groceries in a grocery store➜complementary; Silverware/flatware at a restaurant, so you can eat the food you ordered➜complementary; etc. . . .).

    I could go on and on, but since I'm in a situation that may end up in a . . . closed door meeting, I will say no more, except . . .

    Dealers refusing to check the ATF level are in violation, again this is my opinion, of the WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE GUIDE, which clearly states "inspect and adjust all fluid levels", as part of the routine scheduled maintenance. Hmmm, doesn't ToyotaCare cover that?

    You should have put a dab of tamper paint on the check level bolt.. Just to keep them honest.

    ^ I would like to know where he got those flares as well. Pretty cool looking.

    I just put on my bed decal and got the OBD2 usb hook up to turn off that annoying door ajar.... Hopefully it lets me change a lot of the features like Audi allows.

    Just my 2 cents on the mpg. I was disappointed in my mpg up until around 2500 miles. Then I went from averaging 16-17 in town to now averaging 19+ in town. Took a 4 hour road trip recently averaging 72 mph and got 22.4 mpg. Don't get discouraged until you get some miles on your truck. My 16 V6 is now averaging better than my old 2000 4 banger AT prerunner. This is a lot more truck than that 2000 regular cab so I am very happy with mpg now. I currently have 145 city miles on a full tank and it is showing 19.8 mpg. I also have been much smoother on my driving style. 90% of my weekly driving is on 35-45 mph roads.

    I've had 24mpg at 77mph (picture proof!) and seen 25mpg at 65mph. My mileage is great!

    I am trying my best to stay clear of this because I am personally affected. But I know many caring, responsible parents who have had their offspring go bad for whatever reason. Peer pressure or some of their synapses don't properly connect in their brain. Their are many reasons why people become criminals. And yes the way they were brought up could be a factor, but is not always the only reason. The undisputed fact is there are criminals amongst us. To leave a handgun unsecured in a unlocked vehicle is irresponsible!!! It's one thing to have a set of Predator steps stolen off your truck. Not taking half a minute to secure a handgun and lock your doors is another. I support the 2nd but only for those who realize and take due diligence that they are in control of an instrument of death. A handgun is designed (other than target shooting) to kill. You don't load up 15 rounds of jacketed hollowpoints to scare birds. I have carried a sidearm everyday of work for the last thirty plus years. Never ever have i not had it under my direct control at all times, with the exception of being kept with a trigger lock, in a gun safe bolted to my floor.

    On a down hill with a tail wind.

    I don't believe an instant read is accurate. That's just what you're getting at that exact moment. I believe in the numbers based in a whole tank and miles driven.

    My 22.4 at 72 was going up to the mountains and back. Some of the trip it was actually showing over 25 mpg. Wonder how much it will change when I go in at 5k and get my tranny topped off. Mine is absolutely low and shows when going from reverse to drive and slipping from 2nd to 3rd. For what its worth mine does duplicate the numbers when using a calculator. The computer is fairly accurate.
