Awesome, Mitch. That pretty much seals the deal that the Tacomas would be able to make it the entire length of the power line trail. Videos don't do that terrain justice, especially the last trail you climb in your first video. Is your Tacoma mostly stock?

Looking forward to it! When are you thinking you'll be back in the states?

    Welcome welcome!

I think I'm scheduled to work that weekend, but if anything changes I'll be sure to let you know. How are you liking that new suspension so far?

so far, liking it alot, but its only on road.

Its confirmed that AOP is the place to go, leaving tomorrow for the weekend. Thats where I can really test it out. They have a dirt track they race on, and trucks are allowed on it to race so itll be a great time.

If you can come I highly recommend it!

Yeah it's a bone stock 16 OR. It's crazy how steep those hills are in real life and how the camera flattens them out. I wouldn't do it when it's muddy. A friend of mine works the power lines and said he saw a truck that fell off the road, up there.

Nice try to snap some pictures of the trip if you can!

Absolutely. I've ridden back there before on my ATV and found a guy stuck at the bottom of the very first long hill you go down. He was in an F250 and had 4wd but no locker and he just couldn't get the traction he needed to make it up. That's what had me kind of worried about taking the Tacoma back there, but I'm glad to hear they can crawl that trail just fine.

By the way this is a picture of that last hill you climbed in your first video. I think it's the worst one on the trail because it's so steep and rocky. But like you said, in a photo or video it just looks like a flat, gentle slope.

Hey gents, would there be any interest in headin to Morris Mountain O/R park sometime? it looks like 1h45m to the NW from columbus. It says its class 1 trails are fine for stock, class 2 I think said like 33" tires, and I think class 3 talked about possible locker (which I dont have, but have done stuff that other people used lockers for so it should be fine haha, as long as others go to pull each other out when stuck)

Did any of you guys with lift kits have issues with the needle bearing in the front end? Seems to be a super common issue on the 2nd Gens, and I'm looking to order a set of Bilstein 6112's this weekend. The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is I'd really hate to have to tear apart the front diff to change out a bearing.

I did not/ have not (knock on wood). I also dont max out the lift fully which I dont know if that would really affect that bearing but...it may help?

Fingers crossed I don't either, I think I'm going to take the plunge and snag them this weekend. I may have to get you to help me with the install if you don't mind. I've watched all of the videos on swapping out the springs without a compressor but I'm still a little nervous about it.

Awesome on the welding. I've only ever used a wire welder a handful of times years ago and never was quite able to get the hang of it. Stick welding is easier IMO, but it's also easier to mess up and melt right through the steel you're welding. Really it's one of those things that's "easy" to do, but difficult to do correctly and have it look pretty.

so true about easy to do, hard to do it correctly haha

and i should be able to help. Even I have never swapped springs out without a spring compressor, I personally think its an accident waiting to happen. but do you need a spring compressor--->I thought the 6112's came already assembled

They come with the coils / struts but are not pre-assembled. http://www.carid.com/bilstein/6112-...-241627.html?gclid=CLOH-rTQ6MwCFdgRgQoddpkK9w

This is the method that apparently everyone uses to install struts that aren't pre-assembled: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E6u7dC7EHg

Looks simple enough, and I've got everything to do it with at my dad's house. I ended up not ordering them this pas weekend, though because the price jumped up by about $30 before I had a chance to finalize the order. I'll patiently wait for the next sale.

Also, @medic2230 do you have a white color-matched relentless bumper? If so I'm 99% sure I spotted your ride at Target last week.

Do any of you guys have a torque wrench that I could borrow for the weekend? I need one to install the front lift.

Awesome, absolutely. I can meet anywhere between now and the weekend as long as it's after 530pm. Whatever day would be most convenient for you. I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you! Sounds like Jeremy may have one and he's a heck of a lot closer.
