Haha, Florida is land of the flat!

I don't really care about mpg really, it's better than most trucks and I get what I get... I'd have a prius if i worried about it :D

Sorry to hear. Just curious, how much did you get for it? Private party or trade in?

Midnight Auto, really that is when people go shopping for parts after dark off of your truck. Another guy just posted someone took his nerf bars off right in his driveway. I am hoping no members from TW would be that person but remember you don't have to be a member to read the threads here and shit you posted the blueprint on how they go on or off. I am sure you will be fine just a heads up. Your truck looks awesome.

No lift. Thought about leveling it, but I like the way it sits now with the ATs so I don't even think it would be worth the money.

You just described my exact situation with this truck, and why I'm considering buying another FJ and converting it into this:
    attachment_e7a63de04b289d956763d0efc785300ee9501b27.jpg
I just got back to town with my truck and this is the best fuel mileage that I've gotten since I bought the truck. My FJ gets 18-20 on the HWY with more low end torque, and an engine that responds to throttle input.
    0519161422.jpg
I also had the truck on a rocky 45* trail last weekend in 2Hi with the traction control turned off, and I literally couldn't get the truck to rev over 1800RPMs with my foot to the floor. I also very much dislike the electronic 4wd, as I do on other trucks. I thought it would be better on this truck, but it takes about 4 1/2 days and a rain dance to get it to go into 4Lo, which is a little inconvenient when you have 3 other trucks behind you. As I've mentioned before, the seats are incredibly uncomfortable compared to our FJ. I think it's probably a great truck, but really not doing very well at high altitude, where I spend 98% of my time. I thought I'd try it, but wasn't 100% confident when I bought it, so in the end, I'm really not disappointed, it really just isn't up to the task that I want it for. Too bad, but life goes on. I'll probably keep dumping cash into it to try and make it the way it ought to be, but time will tell.

I say you get out of it now while the demand is still high and get your FJ, many tacoma lovers are out there and many don't even visit this forum. I had luck posting on craigslist.

Yeah, that's why I've been trying not to drive it anymore than I have to. Still under 2K miles, so we'll see. You sell yours with the lift and everything?

    I did about 7 coats
Started with 2 coats straight on, one from the left side, one from the right side, one from top and one from bottom and then one more straight on. I let it sit for 10-15 mins in the sun and then waited like 20-25 mins after my last coat to start peeling it all off.
I used a toothpick to get it out of the A's and O. Its a pain in the ass, but it will eventually come out.

Yeah, sold it as it sat because if it didn't sell I didn't want to be driving a stock truck.

Does anyone remember how to turn off the red triangle light in the cluster display? I know it was back about 850 posts ago. Thanks.

For what its worth I had a couple of months when I was also considering selling mine. I had 1st and 2nd gens too. Loved all of them. You are correct that these suck for power. My 2008 had tons more power. It also ate more fuel and rode like a Camry. Some of my complaints have fixed themselves (radio reboots stopped, squeak in front end went away). My problem is I don't want to pay an outrageous price for a low mileage used FJ. The only thing I have any interest in is possibly a 2016 4runner but not gonna pay a $10k+ difference to have one. As of now I am complacent with mine and I do love the look and feel of it. I only owe $13k on it and have a very low payment. I am just hoping that Toyota will own up to the new model issues and finally put out some TSB's to resolve everything. I am also hoping that aftermarket tuners will come out soon to actually be able to utilize the "278" quoted horsepower of the 3.5. I don't blame anyone for selling something they don't like. I bought mine with the intention of driving it over 200k miles mostly trouble free.

my dealer did it. Its a 3/1 level kit but the truck sat low in the rear afterwards so they switched out the 1' block for a 1.5' add a leaf and now its all good. i believe the kit was Tuff County. dealer did the whole thing for $619
