Size matters..... Hmmm? should I post that on Twitter and see how it trends
JK, I think we (me) all blow this generation difference thing out of proportion; but hey carry on with your witty banter to an OP that moved on to the Tundra site.Guessing he tried to tow something up the gauntlet like the rocket scientists on that; ya know "show" and failed to beat their record with the 3.5

My 94 Toyota pickup with a 3.0 and 5 speed had better low end torque than my '16 limited 3.5 has. What a joke.
Even as gutless as the 3.0 was at least it would pull the hill by my house in 5 th gear at 80 Where my 3.5 is in 4th gear

Good luck with that :proposetoast: Plenty of 4runner forums to move along too as well instead of hanging around here like others do just to continue to post the same nonsense over and over again.

Wrong! The mini van is a transverse number, this is more akin to Lexus GS 350.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
That's what I was gonna say: he's not pointing out WHERE the torque maxes out in the RPM band which is what really counts.

Does nobody test drive cars and trucks to make sure they like it before they buy them?

But the commercial was cool, isn't it like that? Background music and hucking it on a stock suspension?!

Test driving doesn't give the full effect of ownership. If Toyota would load the bed up with cement bags or attach a trailer during a test drive, then maybe that would reduce buyers' remorse.

Some of us live in areas where the speed limit and traffic keep you well under 60 mph . So you don't realize how worthless the new truck is until you get it on a long road trip with the cruise set at 90

I thought it was pretty obvious I was talking about a 5 speed Manual ,
I know comparing manual to automatic isn't always a fair comparison but the 128 extra horsepower on the 3.5 should more than make up the difference .
The 3.5 would be an awesome motor in the scion fr-s but doesn't belong in a truck

My Ridgeline had almost the exact specs of this Taco and it had no issues towing or driving. This engine is plenty capable, the transmission is just choking it out with weird software. Its just too eager to up-shift

So you don't think the 2016 with manual would hold 6th gear where your '94 held 5th? Autos will downshift, just the way it is.
