WTF? That's crazy. Drive up to Pittsburgh I had mine replaced no problem and @Arailt had his replaced with an AAL no problem. They just gave him his AAL back.

Where in NC did you get the inspection done at? Did you already receive your remedy letter? I haven't yet.

Called today and set an appointment for Tuesday for the 'inspection'. I asked about the alignment and she said that if anything was affected by the work they would take care of it. So, no promises.

I took my truck in for inspection last week. Handed them the recall letter and they said they'll call me when the springs come in, they didn't even look at the springs. They also said they have no idea when they will come in. I'm wondering if I should try another dealer to get my springs faster?

I just got my truck back,in addition to replacing the leaf springs they also did an alignment. I was told that was part of the recall.
They also did a complete inspection and found a few things that needed attention, what suprised me is that they included pictures of the problem areas.
All in all it was painless they even gave me a ride to and from.
I normally don't go to the dealer for service but after seeing the prices I might start, they are surprisingly competitive!

Quick question guys, I had the TSB 4 leaf springs installed when the truck was new in '08. Are they replacing these with the 4 leaf pack? I lifted the front a bit after the TSB to level it off, hope they are not planning to put a 3 leaf pack back in.

Hendrick in Apex, NC. I didn't get my letter yet, but Toyota.com showed remedy available for my VIN so I gave them a call. I assume the letters in the mail. I literally think I may have been their first customer for this recall. There was a lot of confusion on their end.

Think the advisor was Mark M. In all the confusion I left without a business card. I didn't catch the tech's name.

my local dealer did there inspection or whatever.did all the recalls I didn't do but had to order springs.2 to 4 weeks the girl said.toyota is certainly making this difficult.and they gave me a suggested maintenance list on stuff that needed doing.a manual transmission drain and fill for 204 and a new belt I replaced 4 months ago for 186 dollars.i guess the stealerships never change.

I have the old 2007 3-pack and they are inverted and sit about 2" above the bump stops. They literal bottom out on even a slight bump without any load whatsoever. Does the recall address that?

Gotcha. I go to David he's loves off-roading or I just go to the assistant service manager. I use to work there as a writer. Tough job it gets hard keeping up parts, issues, and recalls.

So I dropped my Tacoma off at the dealer this morning after waiting over 2 months for the parts to come in. I asked the tech a few questions, none of which he had intelligent answers for.

I asked him about the alignment and he said no, wouldn't even entertain the idea. He seemed clueless as to why I asked.

I then attempted to confirm that they were using the 3+1 leaf packs. He had no idea what that meant, even after my attempt at explaining it.

I know this should be expected, but it gives me a bad feeling. I don't have much faith that they will get this right...I'll know in a few hours.

FYI for Colorado folks. I did my recall work through Mountain States Toyota. The whole process was about 1 month from initial inspection to springs being installed. You have to make appointments for both visits, and there was about a 10 day order time on my springs. Pretty painless process and they even did a full alignment. I think my alignment specs could be better but I'm not unhappy with how it's driving.

Got the new leaf pack it so my new Ubolts on the truck have about 3/4 of an inch left. Assuming the width of my AAL is less than that I should in theory have enough room to use the existing UBolts right?
