Yeah I am very careful where i go in the woods and keep a very good lookout for other critters...

I was very lucky that the only one that got a clean bite was the Cotton mouth the others had jeans and socks to go through.....

Home.....Just barely.....Almost held me overnight again. The surgery went well. "Textbook perfect" in the words of the urologist. They removed a 6cm cyst and some clean tissue just below it. He said that 95% of the kidney is still there and functional. Recovery took a while longer than expected. I just didn't want to wake up apparently. Made it back to the room by 6PM last night, slept comfortably, woke up @ 4:30AM like I always do, took my meds, the doc came by to see me, and let me know just what all would need to happen before being discharged. All I had to do was to pee on my own and empty my bladder. Sounds easy enough......They pumped me full of fluids via IV. Nothing was coming out. Kidneys had shut down. Deadline was 1PM.....still nothing.....2 then 3, then 4PM....Nothing. At that point, they said I'd be staying another day. I was bummed. My wife was even MORE bummed.

Then the cork blew out.....Over 700cc of urine in one shot! Never has so few been so happy over so much pee! Doc was happy. Wife is happy. I'm beyond happy. Now everything is working according to specification!

Still a bit of pain, especially my shoulders where they had my arms pulled up out of the way while the surgery went on. Gotta go back to the doc on Monday. No stitches.....All super glued shut.

Labs will be back middle of next week, but doc says it definitely WAS cancer. I'll get a follow up MRI in a month, then on every 6 months from now on.

Which brings me to the mushy part.....Thanks one and all for the kind words, thoughts and prayers. It means more to me than words can ever express.

    Now.....to my OWN BED!!!!

You would be okay as a kid I was into everything and grew up on a large wooded property along the Alifia river in Tampa with some barns and a boat dock. My uncle was a boat builder and had piles and piles of wood and shit everywhere.Prime housing and cover for these snakes...

Good to hear from ya Blue and that everything went well. Do we know if it is benign? Hope so. Anyway, glad you get to sleep at home and that everything went like a gently flowing river...lol

They are everywhere you go. Mojave rattlers can be big and mean, but unless you go out of your way and are deaf you can avoid them.
