Hey everyone, new to the forum, also looking to join the Tacoma family. Up until this point I've been a Jeep guy (owned 3 Cherokees, 2 of which I still do) but I've been working at a Toyota dealer for awhile now and I think my mind is shifting. Anyway, I'm looking into getting a Tacoma. Specifically an older single cab with MT. I recently found out that the single cab only comes with the 4 cylinder motor. Can anyone give me any insight on if the 4 cylinder performs well or if I should get a different cab with the v6?? Any input would be appreciated!

    Welcome to TW.

A really old single cab can be had with a 3.0 v6 but I think the newer 2.7 is stroger.

I owned a 2010 standard cab 4 banger with MT at the same time I owned a 2012 DCSB v6 auto.

The 4 banger got about the same milage but performance wasn't close.
