i just did a few months ago

 

Finished setting up the boxing of the transmission skid:



And have most of my switch setups figured out for the tool box. Now to take it all apart to paint the paranoid switch panel.

I ordered this part, it was the wrong part.

In some of the 01 and 02 4Runners and some of the 01, 02 and 03 Tacoma's Toyota used a different Throttle Body. These Throttle Bodies used a different Throttle Position Sensor Part #89452-35030. the only way to get this part from Toyota is to order the complete Throttle Body which cost between $800 and $1200, they don't sell the Throttle Position Sensor as a separate part and there is not an after market part that will work either, that I can find other than the one I listed before. It took a lot of searching to find.

 

OK, so I am trying to remove the aftermarket CC and put in OEM CC. I have a used wheel, with the CC stalk and connector.

I removed my hornpad, then I removed the nut holding the wheel on.
I couldnt get the steering wheel off.
I couldnt budge it. Was I missing something, or is it just so tight on those splines?
I was whacking it from the backside at different angles, then trying to pull off but no joy. I obviously didnt go apeshit on it.
What is the technique for removing the steering wheel?

 

I think you have to use a steering wheel puller. Might be able to rent one from an auto parts store.

 

this I like! is it a fairly simple job? how did you fasten it?

 

If you take door panel off youl see everything comes off with phillips head screws from the backside.

 

Weird. That's the one I used, didn't know they used different ones.

 

Neither did I, that's why I posted the link so the next guy want have the same problem, crazy that Toyota doesn't sell it.

 

Discovered the glove box light and replaced the bulb...

 

found these guys hiding in a trash pile. mint too... no EWD though.

Also I'm having trouble painting the paranoid switch plate. I think you have to sand the aluminum so that the primer and paint will stick. It just rubs off the shiny aluminum.

its amazing what people will throw away just because "oh we have access to it online now". nothing beats paperback.

 

it should have come sanded already. your best bet is to make sure there is no oil on it so clean it very well.

 

Has anyone put a switch panel on the headliner before the rear view mirror. There is a small hump that seems as if a switch panel would fit great and i thought i had seen someone here have it but i cant find it anymore
