Im getting paid 16% more than the day shift guys, to be on TW

 

No extra here....I'm salary ......but it is way less chaotic on nights.

 

I think it might be chaotic, or it might not be. Depends on the day hah. But Im also in a data center, looking at 5 computer screens.

lol been a decent night. Right now sitting on one of our regular ETOH patients that EMS brought to us.

 

Always a good time. We don't get them too often, but that's one of mine as well. Going through withdrawals.

 

Luckily this one is sleepin.

 

Mine too. Ativan and hydroxyzine make him sleep quite well.

 

Some people just need a ride on the Van. Vitamin H gets used quite a bit around here too.

Do you guys normally switch back to regular sleeping hours on your days off or stick to the same schedule all week? I normally switch back to regular sleeping hours but I just couldn't sleep tonight for some reason lol

 

Since my norm is three 12s, I can typically have a few days in between work stretches. So I'll normally take a nap the afternoon before day one, then nights, then get done and sleep until noon or so and then I'm back on regular schedule. I'm still tired all the time, but such is life.

And for the hospital folks, we're upgrading charting software starting tonight 0100. So we get to do completely paper charting, paper orders, everything for about 18 hours. Can't wait to start that cluster tomorrow morning

 

Yeah I work four 12s so I normally get home around 9am on my last day and sleep till around 1pm then go back to sleep at night with my wife. Then I'll try to sleep in as late as possible my first day back which is 3pm on a good day. I have a feeling I'm gonna be extra tired today though lol. Gonna be getting a tattoo later I hope I don't fall asleep in the chair lmao.

 

Nope! Stay on schedule. Flipping schedule is unhealthy (documented) and dangerous if you use any kind of machinery or power tools.
I know... that makes graveyard suck more

Do you use EPIC?

 

I flip back and fourth....generally sleep in until noon after a night shift, we get off at 0600 though. I don't have a problem with lack of sleep....

...We're Switching to EPIC in Oct.

 

Good thing I just work with computers lol. But if I stayed on the same sleep schedule all week I wouldn't be able to spend any time with my wife, and I'd like to stay married lol.
