    Update:

Went to dealer today and ordered trans pan, dipstick tube and dipstick!
I'm going to hold off posting the part numbers til next week when I'll know if they fit or not.
I'm 99.9% sure these are the right parts, but I want to make sure they're the right parts before I post the info!

    Looking forward to lunch!
DFW is a long way away, I'd take a Chili's gift certificate though!:anonymous:

    Update:
Good news and bad news, first the good news.
Kept my appt this AM, the idea was to pull the pan and inspect for damage, with the pan pulled I was allowed to check things out.
With the pan off, I noticed very minimal material stuck to the magnets, and no debris in the pan!
The fluid was a little dark, didn't smell burnt, and my experience as a tech makes me believe that the trans is fine internally.
I discussed things with the Master tech who worked on my truck, and he agreed with me that the trans looked in great shape, he told me that a reflash was just coming out for my truck, and he reflashed my computer.
Still testing the truck out currently, but everything feels fine, just want to give the trans time to relearn, and I'll re-evaluate at that time.
Overall impression, I'm pleased with how the dealership has been handling things, and I feel more comfortable knowing the trans is in good shape, and has all fresh fluid!
Bad news, the pan was a no go, I intend to hit Pick a part, and get a pan and dipstick and tube, and will eventually do a mod to my existing pan!
Just feel the pressure off knowing this issue is being handled well at my dealership!

Does the reflash cover any other years than the '15?

Changed Trans fluid and all 3 gearboxes. Thanks to all the great info on this forum, all went well. Not having a Trans stick and filler neck is not that big a deal once you know how to access the check mode. I got 3 qts. Of fluid out of trans, took almost 4 qts to fill. Another one a little low from the factory.

Next time elevate front-end as high as it will go and you'll drain an extra qt. of ATF.

Was wondering if anyone has compared the transmission pan temperature with a infrared temp gun vs the trans. test light on the dash. If the light flashes at 115 degrees and the pan temp is xxx degrees, could that reading be used for future level checks without going through the full procedure?
    Just A thought.

Changed transmission fluid in my 2015 this morning. Only had 12000 miles on the truck, but wanted to change fluid to Valvoline
Max-life. Used max-life in my previous 2006 Tacoma and was really happy with it. Just wanted to post this because my transmission was 1 1/2 quarts low from factory. Shifts 100% better with the new fluid. Check your fluid level even if new.

It would seem that your shifting or the general behavior of your trucks transmission would have been unbearable with that kind of shortage.

Was a little erradic when shifting, but has smoothed out considerable. Truck was bought used 2 weeks ago. Seems like there have been quite a few low from the factory.

Car has been shifting funny since brand new. Checked my ATF Dipstick based on directions I saw here. Fluid was at the bottom end of cold.
Dropped truck off at dealer and told them of my concerns.
3 hours later I got my truck back. They said they did nothing to the vehicle at all. We checked the ATF the same way I did it at home and now the fluid is all the way at HOT. I do NOT believe they did nothing to my truck.
All of the shifting problems are now gone....

Unbearable with it being short a whole 1.5 qts, highly doubt it.

Yes sir! One of the lucky ones

The tech at Toyota didn't understand how I was able to check the tranny fluid. I open the hood and pointed to the dip stick and he goes "ohh"...
