I will test drive manual taco when I find one not giving up there. Prefer look of canyon over Colorado also. Colorado looks like a car front end. Canyon looks sharp.

The manual has some good low-end grunt thanks to the beefy rear-end. I fell in love with the manual AC Sport I tested. I would love to test a baby Duramax too.

I like the visibility over the hood of the GM; The windshield is taller. I actually prefer the more substantial feel of the Tacoma Interior even at the risk of being a bit crowded and busy. The Colorado feels more Car like as far as ride goes.

That is the truth. I had a 1st gen 2000 and 2005 XRunner back in the day and on the Tacoma forums back then I was on none of the forums acted as much of a whine fest this one is. Customtacos, Toyotanation before it changed, and XR-Underground. I dont know if this is the only one but it seems like nothing but people crying over here about everything. From crying about the smallest issue with the new truck that may take mins to resolve like ubolts and grease fittings. to older gen people crying they are the best and troll the 3rd gen section non stop. Yea there is an issue with the trans low fluid and it has a unsatisfying shift pattern but that so far is the only MAJOR thing that seems to be wide spread. the rest is just cry baby town

I think people not liking the way something drives is pretty significant especially when the primary purpose of a vehicle is to drive it

I think that's mostly because Tacomas are more and more becoming a "lifestyle" vehicle. Young owners came from their Scion TCs that they had in college and see that everybody else has a truck now and they want one of their own. So they do some research (google Tacoma forum, this site is the top 3 results) and remember that Tacomas have a solid reputation (built on the simplicity of pickups and 1st gens) so they buy one, not knowing how to get the jack to change a spare out. And if they can't do that, don't tell them to get a grease gun and look for the nipples on the drive shaft. They'll think you're talking about shooting bullets at boobs.

They came from a car and expect a car with a bed instead of a trunk.

Motor(under powered) and trannys(idiotic 6 spd) are not fine, works not so good, untrainable operators seem the issue(this is def right). If ya want a truck, get a gen one, buy one and quit whinin' about 3rd gens..[/QUOTE]

Another trolling 3rd gen. No body wants a 1st gen anymore if they want a decent truck. Sure buy one if your looking for a beater or just chop it up and look stupid and think your cool, but I would never go back to one of those things.

Thinking about trading mine for a different color. Heard the red ones shift less and get better mpg than the silver ones.
