That's what I might have. Gonna have to take a look at this in my truck. But I bet that's it had never been changed when you owned the truck.

    Transmission fluid weirdness.

From everything I read, when just drain and fill, you get 2.5 quarts out, so you should put that back in.

    Nope.

I just emptied the pan into a gallon milk jug, and its full (or would be aside from the crap I spilled).

Is this right? Or is this the fluid expansion?

I drove back from work (30 miles/45 minutes), stopped briefly twice then went home, spent maybe 20 minutes and did the job.
I put about 2.5 quarts in, and the dipstick mark is between cold and warm.

Edit: OK, start and run until warm, then check level...

So this might be a long shot but I just changed the oil in my 96 automatic 4cyl tacoma and it now seems to be having some trouble shifting into 1st. It even stalled twice. Any ideas what I did wrong?

I did mention that when you drain the tranny it's going to be over 3quarts. So saying you filled a gal is no surprise. It could of been overfilled from the start. Just keep an eye on that dip stick and go off that.

I used Permatex Headliner Adhesive (shoots a web like Spiderman) on panel.
Cut the plaid fleece using existing panel fabric after I peeled it off.
Re-glued the green thin foam on it and glued fleece on top of that.

    ^This

Very easy mod to do. Got some yards of fabric on sale at Hobby Lobby.
I'll do the headliner when the rainy season ends, hopefully soon.

Just some extra weight at the top of the shifter. It feels more solid when shifting is about it. I did put in some Marlin bushings a few months ago. I'd say that's one of the best mods/maintenance ever for a standard.

    YMMV

I felt no difference when I replaced the shifter bushing and seat.

Mine were wore out. It was like night and day on the bushings.
