That's what I did. I like knowing I can handle all the bills and anything else that may come along the way instead of having to rely on that second income. But, I did just get some good news. After we get all the wedding activities done, I did get the go ahead that she will "help" me get my Runner to the level I want it so that's almost motivation enough to go ahead and get this over and done with....for lack of better terms.

Has anyone here ever finished an 80% lower?

Wanted to see if anyone wanted to do a build party sometime. I have ordered a couple thought I'd see if others have done same.

I have not, I helped a friend complete a polymer lower, I've always wanted to but truck seems to come first. After this summer I won't be needing an 80% ...

Do you have or have access to a mill? Know how to use it?

I may or may not have had experience with 80% but with the new law passed it makes it really really iffy to be doing them anymore. It's easier to buy second hand unless you have access to a cnc machine, a really good jig and blueprint.

No not anymore. I was planning on using jig and router but if someone else did that would have been best.

I had always heard and still hear if you are not paying to use equipment, or paying someone to othereise run, rather you would have to load press start and remove it was clear. I read of people out in califoria doing same as that's where I got idea from. But I'm not a law expert. I have also seen it advertised on Craig's for 80% ak party. Mainly if you are helping people for capital gain in your own machine e shop its illegal.
    I was curious also.
    Same.

I helped a friend do a 80% poly lower with a dremal one time. All we did was use a complete lower as a visual guide and take away what wasn't supposed to be there. Luckily the AR lower isn't exactly a Swedish clock so it's internals have a lot of tolerance.

I've heard 2nd hand of guys using a dremal for the cast lowers too but I've never seen it done.

yeah, read the second link I posted. We quit messing with 80%s after that. The router options doesn't look bad, it would just take some time.

Why would you stop messing with 80% lowers just because the ATF made a ruling that a regular machine shop cannot assist you? You can complete a lower with a good vice and a drill press.

Or just find a machine shop that thinks the ATF can go shove it just as much as you.

Yeah if you had access to a good vice and drill press, or go the router option then I think your good. We had access to a machine shop on the weekends with a cnc so that why we quit doing them.
