I have 3/8" poly spacers on both sides with a 1/4" poly stacked on the 3/8" on the driver's side :anonymous:

    No issues.

Thanks. That looks like how mine is (1/4" only). Toyota told me I didn't have enough of the threads showing on the 3 little posts. bde6a2bc5252564a4f114b0d553f2556_8fc788fdc85bf35576bbab451f38c2816bdff60f.jpg

However, I do have this problem I hear every time I go over a little bump. It's as tight as it can get. https://vimeo.com/167494655

They're fine. But if it bothers you, go to hd or lowes and get some new nuts.
    try a 3/8" poly from wheeler's.

no. Just loosen the lca bolts a hair, remove the 3 top nuts, lower the strut down enough to where you can slip the spacer in, then reassemble.

I need someone else to do an experiment for me. If you're in a DCSB, run it with no tailgate for an entire tank of gas and calculate your MPG.

On any other truck I've owned (all normal/long beds), tailgate position had no effect on MPG.
On my DCSB, I gained >1.5 mpg tailgate when tailgate was off. Don't think it was coincidence but would like someone else to try it out as a confirmation.
I average 17.5mpg and it's pretty consistently close to that.
Full tank with no tailgate got 19.2 mpg.
Most of a tank with tailgate back on got 17.8 mpg.
Full tank no tailgate got 19.4 mpg.
Haven't filled again yet since putting tailgate back on but based on how many miles I've gone, guessing it'll be back down in the 17s.

I'm wondering if aerodynamics are different enough on a short bed versus regular for tailgate position to matter.

Well when it rains it pours. Evidently my dogs got into a fight sometime between 7 and 10pm last night. Went out to feed them and one didn't come when I called them. She was just standing in the yard in front of their house. I picked her up and carried her upstairs, she had a few wounds, but nothing that looked life-threatening. The problem is she has Addison's disease, which is a deficiency in the natural steroid cortisol. When confronted with a stressful event, the body dumps cortisol. In her case, she can't recover and goes into Addisonian crisis.
We loaded her up and took her to the emergency vet. We were very clear about what happened, and her disease, and what we thought was going on because we have seen it before. They took her back and the vet examined her and talked to us. We again told her what was going on. So she started caring for her, and we came home.
The vet calls this morning around 6:15 and tells us that she's had low blood pressure all night, but they've been pushing IV fluids and had her on a fentanyl drip for pain. Fentanyl is an extremely strong narcotic approximately 80-100 times stronger than morphine. They never asked us for consent about the fentanyl. It was obvious to both my wife and me that the reason they couldn't get her blood pressure up was a combination of the Addisonian crisis and the fentanyl. We were extremely upset, and told them to discontinue the drip.
We had our vet call and talk to the day shift vet, and I went and talked to her in person as well. Finally we got some steroids administered and I went back to see her. Her condition was almost identical to when we dropped her off. The day shift vet called me around 1:30 and told me that she was up walking around, and ate some chicken they fed her. She preferred to keep her overnight again for fluid administration and observation. I found out the same vet was working tonight that was in last night and decided to go pick my dog up at the end of the day before she comes in. I don't want her anywhere near my dog again.
I'm so pissed, because she was there for 8 hours getting completely improper care and could have died because her blood pressure was so low. Her systolic pressure should be between 105-145, and at one point in the night it was 52. Once someone actually listened to us and treated her properly, she turned around in roughly 5 hours. We plan on filing a formal complaint, but not sure how far that will go. Sorry for the rant, but I needed to vent.

Pic dump of today's progress that was made. The smaller "e"s was crucial I think in helping me adjust. I also took the machine off the "automatic" settings and adjusted wire speed and amps based off the inside flap. From there I adjusted the amps down since it was burning through the metal, and adjusted it to what I thought looked correct (I may still be a little off though).
