TRD exhaust- does the sound change as you work it in?

JUst wondering how much the sound changes for a trd exhaust. will it get quieter or louder.

what usually happens with exhaust/ muffler applications

anyone with info would be great!

I can tell you from proper experience with my old 4Runner - supercharged and TRD exhaust. Nice and little bit more (happy spinning) around town.

After 30 min on the Highway I want to get little bit quitter. You will get more noise. Count on at least 10 decibels increase in real world. I, my self, I would skip this. Nice at the stop light but,,???? . That's just me.

 

I've had my TRD exhaust for about a month now. Maybe it's just because I'm used to it now but it seems to be quieter now than the first week or so. I had a lot of cabin drone at low RPM's at first which doesn't seem as bad now. Like I said, no scientific data to back it up, could be that I just don't notice it now. Overall I love it, it's aggressive when I get on it and subtle the rest of the time.

 

I'll be getting mine hopefully next week. My Christmas present for the Taco.

 

hey sorry guys for the noob. i have an 07 v6, 33's, zip for mods. i need to get the gas milage up and return the hp to stock or above. im driving 268 miles from home to ft. lewis, i know this truck can really rock, but i also work as a mechanic(small engine) and i know that these days u can not modify an engine with out telling the comp, i was thinking about a complete exhaust, and intake, and a spacer. what do u guys recomend for a comp tuner or do i need one?

Most people do not enjoy loud exhausts, and a drone for that matter. the TRD catback has pretty much 0 drone and is way to quiet for my taste.
I felt like I wasted a grip of money buying the catback-only because of my personal taste in sound. It is superb quality, all stainless with a nice tip. The truck sounds a bit more aggressive when singing wide open but there is no backfire pop sounds or anything too aggressive.
You will also feel no increase in HP, or an extremely small amount. It's hard to gain HP from modern exhaust systems due to the catelytic converters restricting aft of the headers.
With that said, the TRD exhaust is a nice addition to some one looking for a mild more aggressive sound with high quality parts.

I'm looking to possibly sell mine. Had it for 8 months now, i'm curious to see what I could get for it... sorry should offically post that in a new thread but I'll ask here anyway

 

Only been a few hours, but I love mine so far. Definitely not for those who want something really loud. But it suits what I was looking for and I'm pleased. Sounds real good once you get to around 3000 rpm. Quick clip, in the dark haha.
