    I will try to make this post as non-technical as possible!!! Here it goes, the below channel frequencies are "OPEN", if you will, for "family use" and by setting your Baofeng radio to the frequencies below, you will pick-up the associated channels with the type of radios that is pictured for those who don't have: a Baofeng radio. CB is out of the question to communicate to the radio pictured above... sooooooooo, don't even try it!!! It will NOT work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Other than that, punch the frequencies listed in to your Baofeng radio and the person with the radio pictured will be able to communicate to you. The downside, their radio will NOT get near the transmitting range like the Baofeng radios due to wattage output. So, with that said, for a Baofeng-to-Baofeng communications you should be able to achieve fairly good transmitting range. I only have the picture to help reference people that have similar radios, REGARDLESS of manufacturer!!! Whether it is a Midland, COBRA, Motorola, etc CH8-14 should ALL have the same frequency associated to that channel!

    Finally, to help facilitate your Baofeng radio to be able to communicate, with little to NO "hitches", do the following steps. READ the NOTES as they're there to somewhat help describe on why this is done!!!

    First, the frequency channels:
    CH08 = 467.560
    CH09 = 467.585
    CH10 = 467.610
    CH11 = 467.635
    CH12 = 467.660
    CH13 = 467.685
    CH14 = 467.710

    Second, the steps to take for the Baofeng radios:
    NOTE, NOTE, NOTE:
    Below are some partial steps that I had created a while back. In either case, these steps will help make sure that your radio will work radio-to-radio communications.

    2) press MENU

    NOTE:
    You only NEED to press MENU if you are back on the "freq mode" HOME screen!!! I will be

    jotting down instructions, assuming that it goes back to this HOME screen for time-out
    reasons of the radio!!!

    3) press the UP/DOWN arrow buttons until you see SQL
    4) press MENU to set the SQL (squelch) and set it to, say 3 by pressing the UP/DOWN arrow buttons

    NOTE:
    0-3 is fairly sensitive to incoming weak signals with a setting of "0" the most sensitive you can get with your Baofeng. You will, more than likely, constantly hear "static", so if you

    don't want to hear the static, go UP in 1digit increments until the static goes away. Usually
    a setting of "1" should be good enough, but still pretty sensitive to incoming weak signals.

    NOTE:
    a setting of "0" would be benificial for EXTREMELY incoming weak signals (i.e. someone who

    is pretty far away). BUT, don't expect insane MILES APART communications!!!

    NOTE:
    I was able to do a trial run and with the SQL set to "0" worked, but after about 30sec or thereabouts, I was unable to TX/RX it would seem? I don't know if the RX end was receiving because I was 1/4mi away!!! Setting the SQL set to "1" worked consistently!!!

    5) press MENU to "confirm"
    6) press MENU
    7) press UP/DOWN arrow buttons until you see STEP
    8) press MENU to set the STEP and set it to 2.5K by pressing the UP/DOWN arrow buttons
    9) press MENU to "confirm"

    So, for people that you know that have the radio pictured or similar, again, regardless of manuf, then you can communicate to those radios with your Baofeng. Another possible way for trail communications!!!

    Hope this helps!!! AND, I hope this wasn't too technical???!!! I honestly don't know how else to write it :confused::notsure:

    Pushing carts for 4 hours at a time & bagging after that counts :rofl:
    Yaa it's nice to have a money flow again, it'll be nicer after stress from finals week is gone. Although I still have to deal with one of the higher bosses who has a bad opinion of me due to a manager screw up :rofl:

    That's not true manual labor though. Stuff where you're doing a lot of heavy lifting and you're building stuff is more manual labor. Just shows you don't hike enough you lazy bum :luvya:
    I think we'll be fine. The powers at be only care when people start reporting things. People get away with a lot of very sexist/racist stuff in the funny pics thread all the time

    It seems like it depends on the mood of the mod. I just don't want to have a new thread start with how much traffic this one has already

    I'm more partial to "babysitter" or "school girl"
    The red neck thing doesn't do much for me maybe cuz I live so close to a shit hole

    Hahaha yaaa. I know I'm still good with the manager since he's new & I've always been nice to him, oh and he still managed to clear up my 2nd week for finals on a very short notice :D:thumbsup:. His superior wasn't too happy about that though, ironically she was like oh you told us you originally had so much free time & now you have summer school & this & that; I'm laughing on the inside cause I told her all of that before I got hired :rofl:
    Anyways I'm not concerned whatsover, I'd rather get let go than screw up school :D
    Oh & funny enough the manager told me earlier he wouldnt need me working anywhere near as much as she claims as they're getting 7 new people in 2 weeks :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
    Hahaha I'm happy to not be doing that anymore, did it a lot during high school in the family business. Also got boring when it's just you & your dad and he's quite quiet
