Ammo Availability thread

Eugene had some 20 round boxes for like 11.99 not sure if it was corrosive though

 

It's not bad but you can get better deals online.

 

The post was about where people could readily buy ammo. I simply posted where I have bought lots of it and where all calibers are in stock about every time I'm there...

 

Field and stream has 100rd boxes of 22lr. Just a limit in store purchase not sure about online.

 

Based on market availability and just going price now days...The best prices I have found for all types and sizes of ammunition are:

Due to bad decisions in my youth, black powder arms are the only choice for me. They are a lot of fun ,but a pain to clean. I cast my own bullets and in a pinch I have the recipe to make the powder. So ammo is not really a problem in my case. Although I do have to buy caps. A friend has been making his own caps,so that will be my next project. Casting is relatively cheap, I get the lead from roof flashing,dive belt weights found at flea markets and yard sales. Both are soft lead that I use for my pistols. Wheel weights contain more tin therefore the lead is harder. I use this for my rifles with a patch so the harder lead doesn't foul the rifling.

I think people are starting to realize it's more fun buying a new gun and a little bit of ammo than only ammo.

 

The wife and I went to the range today and the shop had plenty 22 ammo, bought 4 boxes burned through 2 of them

 

I see plenty of 22 ammo from Palmetto State Armory.

 

Anybody find 6.5 Grendel that doesn't cost $1 per round? Haven't been able to find a single box of the Wolf ammo that's $6 a box
