Seat Hight Adjustment Mechanism Faulty from factory!!

My tech said it's another "low fluid issue". The TSB states; "Owners requiring more height in the drivers seat must follow the adjustment procedure outlined below. NOTE: Procedure must not be attempted while customer is operating the vehicle and may need to be repeated regularly for best results! Technician should instruct customer to add at least 40 ounces of liquid, preferably one that is grain based with a yeast additive and high ABV. Upon completion, customer should experience a heightened seating position resulting from enlarged gluteal padding.

 

After my seat fluid adjustment my mileage increased 5 mpg too.

 

There is a vent under the seat I noticed too. After I take it in ( because those instructions are waaaaaay to complicated for me) is there a possibility of more horsespower? From less drag from the vent

 

Toyota needs to figure their shit out

 

You bought one didn't you? I think they've figured it out quite well.

This is link is to a thread I did on raising the seat. The 2016 I test drove had the same mounts as my 2012.

How was the driving position in terms of the steering wheel?

I just wish they had auto adjustable seats. Will 4runner seats fit in the taco?

 

Nope, no other issues. Steering wheel postion is fine, especially when telescoped out. The mod to raise rearview mirror is a must.

 

Any chance of having someone do this for me?

 

I'd pay for a diy kit. Getting it measured and fabricated is beyond my abilities.

 

I did not have any luck. No one wants to touch the safety liability issue. I had to draw up what I wanted and have a machine shop make it for me.

 

Care to share your drawing/specs?

I hear ya. I'm going to try and do this I think in my 3rd gen. i'm not that tall (5'10") and I think the seats are too low. I have a 1989 SR5 pickup and the seats are more adjustable and comfortable than my new truck.

 

mine works just fine.....wait what are we talking about again?
