I don't need the truck right now, but is in the market. If the right price come, then I will buy. This seem to be the perfect price for me. This situation seem fishy.

I don't think you'll find a better deal. I'm assuming that there's no trade in, correct? I see a lot of prices like yours that have a trade in involved in the deal somehow.

No, there are no trade in. Here is the thing, I have not set foot on that dealership yet. I've been working the deal through email. They called and tried to get me to come in today, but I was already on my way to another dealership. He may that offer.

I think you're misreading the text. I believe he's telling you he cannot give you that price as it is $4000 less than his cost.

I agree with your initial assumption. Sounds like BS. I suspect when you get to the dealership your drive off price will be $36k. Only one way to find out. :) Best of luck to you.

I don't really think you are serious about buying a truck. It's obvious that this is a great deal yet you have not visited the dealer.

I am serious about buying a truck. I went to two dealers today that I had contacted before this one. If you read through the text I posted, you can see why I'm suspicious.

I wouldn't bother going to a dealership unless they have the exact truck that you're looking for. Even then I would just email the fleet Dept.

I called dozens of dealers from Dallas to Seattle because their online inventories indicated a truck I want was on the lot. Not always true, many are pre sold.

Did he show you the spec sheet on that truck (with VIN #)? Sometimes the sheet is also called a Vspec. I am worried he might be "accidentally" quoting you a different truck than you intend.

Also, use truecar.com to help check for what a reasonable "good" price is. If you are well outside what is on the left side of the sales prices bell curve, something is likely amiss.

I checked on their website and I think we may be missing something, but I'm willing to take a visit to the dealer just to see if true.

the calculator spreadsheets from carbuyingtips.com may help you analyze what is going on with the numbers as the dealer changes them.

I have attached an example of mine I was using to this post. Here is the place to download some more for different functions: https://www.carbuyingtips.com/download.htm

Why don't you CALL the dealership; speak to a Salesperson; copy their name; indicate that you want to come and test drive the vehicle at a specific day and time; and ask for their assurance that the vehicle will be there upon your arrival. This should alleviate all of the concern of the truck you want, being there when you want it

    +1 to this.

I had some many sales people telling me they can beat any deal blah blah blah and i said i wanted a 7568 and they would all say come on down we'll get you taken care of today. only to show up 1 time and no car was there and was "order only". I already knew it was a needle in haystack. So after that i would call and say if i can drive the truck home in the next 1 hr paperwork done i will come otherwise dont waste my time.

Salesman at non speciality dealerships like a Toyota dealer only get paid for trucks they sell RIGHT NOW. They don't care about an order because they aren't going to make any money RIGHT NOW.

You need to contact EVERY dealer around you once a week to see what they get in allocation. That's how we got our white 7568 with tow package. Waited 28 days after ordering.
Tell him to ditch the document fee. That's not necessary

I checked dealer online inventories nearly daily. Each time one looked right, I called them directly. Most were pre sold or allocated to fleet or lease. Once I found one that met my specs, I made the sales guy go take a photo of the truck and of the window sticker and text it to me.

Gave him a credit card to hold it til the next day. Drive 6+ hours the next morning...

(I had already test driven several and knew what I wanted, just a matter of funding the rainbow farting unicorn)

If you don't hurry, a deal can be had.

I put in an inquiry on Truecar the first day the press release for the 2016 launched. I was set on a 7545 in quicksand. I would rise to the top of the prospect list from time to time and a local dealer would call or email. Nobody wanted anything to do with me when they first saw my request. I would always tell them exactly the same thing and they would stop calling for a while. I would respond to every email/ phone call saying exactly what I want and the price I'm willing to pay (invoice plus $500). These email/ lead management tools are not very sophisticated. Each time, I believe they thought it was the first time I'd talked to them.

Finally, one day in February, a sales manager calls with a "what's it going to take to earn your business." I gave them the same answer I had given probably 20 times in phone/ email response. He said to come down and we'll "see what we can work out." 30 minutes later I had a contract written for invoice plus $500 on my exact truck. 3 months later, I was driving it.

I've used this technique before. The really nice thing is that you usually get some lead time so that you can sell your vehicle rather than trading. That netted me exactly 24% more $ which paid for a healthy list of upgrades on the new truck.

Don't settle. In my situation, it was 100% worth the wait.

So what you are saying is to keep repeating that $33000 OTD Price? I got laughed twice at when I mentioned the OTD price of $33000 for a TRD Sports 4x4

Invoice for that truck is $33K. I think that the best price you can hope for is invoice + TT&L which would be closer to $35K.
