Don't know who your Penske loving resources are, but even if they finished 9-10 I'd still call it the best all star race I've seen, because I'm not biased and call it like I see it.

It's cool if you don't like the format I promise. It'll change next year anyway.

Anything is better than the last decade and a half of All-Star races. The whole All-Star concept is gimmicky, so I can't be upset about the constant rule changes. It's all about the show. They used to stage absurd pre-show stunts such as school bus ramp jumps and full-fledged Normandy invasion reenactments.

The first All-Star race I watched was '92, and nothing will ever beat that race for me personally. Dale, Ernie, Kyle and Davey running hard for the win. My fav. (Wild Bill) wasn't part of the finish, but it's still my favorite.

they need to do something completely new... ilove what they do every week, usually watch every lap, but since they want a show, dirt track, or something else that is way different than normal, in order to showcase a real allstar?

Put a ramp on the backstretch.
    Figure 8 track.
Front wheel drive cars for the event.
Make 'em eat a BK hotdog and drive with one hand.
Put a fan in a passenger seat for the final ten laps.
Turn all the lights off at the track.
    Real life Mario Kart 64.

Confidence in what? He pretty much does on the track whatever he wants to get to the front, was booed more than any other driver in introductions, and still won. I'm just glad he didn't dump anyone to do it like he did MK last year. I think hanging around Brad Keselewzer has given him plenty of confidence. He's not the sliced bread kid he used to be.

And speaking of Brad Keselewzer, did you hear Mike Joy say that Brad came up with this format? I always knew he had his head up Brian France's ass but wow! I'm not sure where one begins and the other ends now.

JGR fan boys get a little sour when the 18 doesn't win.

I know this is late, but I'm still really bummed Ryan Blaney didn't get in the All Star. He had a helluva car.

Same, that guy is doing some nice things with the Wood Bros seeing as they haven't been competitive in a while.

Yeah, I agree. I've been following Ryan Blaney for a few years, and I'm very happy he's in the position he is.

I've been surprised by a couple drivers doing well that I've been really down on just because I don't think they are the quality of driver Elliott or blaney is and that's Trevor bayne and Austin Dillon, running top 15s consistently with some good top 10 runs.

AD has impressed the hell out of me this year. Bayne too. Stenhouse is getting better, as well.
